Xbox Live ‘Deals With Gold’ Offers Whopping Discounts For ‘Titanfall‘ & ‘NBA 2K16’


Huge games are getting enormous discounts this week via the Xbox Live Deals with Gold promotion. Xbox gamers with Xbox Live Gold subscription can have their own copy of Titanfall, NBA 2K16, Resident Evil 6, and more for a much cheaper price.

According to Major Nelson website, the current Xbox One and Xbox 360 deals include a whopping 75 percent discount for Titanfall Deluxe Edition, which is regularly priced at $19.99. Respawn Entertainment’s first-person shooter video game combines “wall-running, double jumping Pilots and powerful yet agile 20-foot-tall Titans” allowing gamers to “tackle varied situation with enhanced mobility, verticality and giant robots.”

In addition to the base game, Deals with Gold’s discounted deluxe edition of Titanfall include the game’s Season Pass as well as the map packs released by the developer, namely IMC Rising, Frontier’s Edge, and Expedition, its product page on Xbox Store specified.

Another hit game that is getting a huge discount this week via Xbox Live Deals with Gold is NBA 2K16, both on Xbox One and Xbox 360. Available for only half of its original price, the basketball simulation video game from Visual Concepts is described as the “most true-to-life NBA experience to date.” The game features a brand new MyCAREER experience, and showcases “animations that provide smoother movement and more realistic articulation,” its description on Xbox Store noted. It offers gamers the virtual experience to go through an entire NBA journey of guiding their MyPLAYER, managing an NBA franchise, or to simply refining their skills by joining in online competitions against other players.

Aside from the discounted standard edition of 2K Sports’ basketball simulation, Microsoft is also offering 50 percent price markdown for the game’s Michael Jordan Special Edition. Add-ons such as NBA 2K16 200,000 VC, 450,000 VC, 75,000 VC, and the Starter Pack are also available with their respective discounted prices.

This week, Xbox Live Gold subscribers can also take advantage of the current Deals with Gold by getting Resident Evil 6 at a lower price. Originally worth $19.99, this Xbox One deal makes the game 30 percent cheaper. The action-adventure third-person shooter video game from Capcom got a 65/100 MetaScore and a 6.0 User Score on Metacritic. The game summary posted on the website read:

Resident Evil 6 is a Survival-Horror game that continues the struggle against the series’ signature zombie inducing bio-terror, while raising the bar with all new game functionality. Players enjoy a diverse play experience, highlighted by the ability to select between three scenarios featuring multiple characters and intertwined storylines. Within these scenarios both stories and action cross paths. Additional features include zombies as well as new enemies, upgradable firepower and characters, vehicle based options, the mini-game based Mercenaries mode, and single-player and co-op play options.”

Meanwhile, a number of Mass Effect add-ons are now 50 percent cheaper as part of the Xbox 360 deals for the Xbox Live Gold members this week. Mass Effect 2‘s DLC pack such as Arrival, Genesis, Overlord are all getting discounts. Downloadable contents from Mass Effect 3 are also discounted.

In other Xbox Live news, Microsoft recently unveiled the free games for the month of July. A separate post on Major Nelson revealed that Xbox One users with Gold membership will be able to download The Banner Saga 2 for free for the entire month of July. Another Xbox One game, Tumblestone, is set to go free from July 16 to August 15.

As for Xbox 360 owners, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas 2, which originally comes with a tag priced at $19.99, will be free from July 1-15. It will then be replaced by TRON: Evolution, going free from July 16-31.
