Sorry Girls, Ryan Lochte Will Not Be Next Bachelor

Sorry Girls, but Ryan Lochte has been rejected by The Bachelor, and will not be appearing on the next season of the reality dating show.

Lochte is officially out of the running to be the next Bachelor star, though a source claims that the Olympic swimmer was “honestly briefly considered,” reports The Detroit Free Press.

After winning big at the 2012 London Olympics, Lochte was openly lobbying for the chance to find his soulmate on reality TV. Unfortunately for the swimming star, it appears he will have to find love elsewhere.

The Detroit Free Press‘s Chris Chase writes of the decision by ABC:

“Do you know how boring and insincere Ryan Lochte must be if The Bachelor turned him down? … For ABC to have turned this down says more about Lochte’s lack of personality than any bumbling Hollywood Access interview could.”

Reality TV Magazine notes that women across America are likely disappointed they won’t see Ryan Lochte’s chiseled abs during this coming season of The Bachelor, but that doesn’t mean they won’t see the Olympic swimmer on TV at all, as the athlete is still hoping for a spot on Dancing With the Stars.

Lochte has also managed to snag cameo appearances in 30 Rock and 90210, and is campaigning for a guest appearance on Gossip Girl. In addition to the TV cameos, Lochte is also building a budding career in fashion as he begins his exclusive fashion correspondent job with E!.

While he is excited about the new job, it has definitely taken the athlete by surprise. Lochte stated that:

“I would never put Ryan Lochte with fashion correspondent together in the same sentence. You know what? It does have a nice ring to it. I kinda like it.”

Considering that Ryan Lochte has already mastered the most important fashion question (“Who are you wearing?”) he may have a promising career in the fashion industry after all.
