Kanye West is one of the most iconic artists in the hip hop industry. However, he is also one of the most controversial. Just a few day days ago, he released an outlandishly creative, but highly provocative video for his “Famous” song. It featured nude lifelike wax figures of him and wife Kim Kardashian flanked by those of popular individuals such as Rihanna, Bill Cosby, George W. Bush, and Taylor Swift. Speaking of Taylor Swift, Kanye West has, in the past, gotten into trouble with her for using her name in his “Famous” song in a line which read as follows.
“I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / I made that b**** ‘Famous.'”
According to Taylor Swift, Kanye West was just trying to use her name for fame. She stated this indirectly at the Grammys while receiving her Album of The Year award. The following was her actual statement.
“There are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success, or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame. But if you just focus on the work … you’ll look around and you will know that it was you and the people who love you who put you there, and that will be the greatest feeling in the world.”
However, Kanye remained adamant, stating publicly that Taylor had agreed to the inclusion of her name in the “Famous” song. Fast forward to recent events, and his wife Kim Kardashian recently revealed to GQ magazine that Kanye West and Taylor had talked on the phone about the line and that she had agreed to it. She alleged that important people in the music industry were also present during the conversation, including Rick Rubin. The following was her actual statement.
“Taylor totally gave the okay. Rick Rubin was there. So many respected people in the music business heard that [conversation] and knew. I mean, he’s called me a b***h in his songs. That’s just, like, what they say. I never once think, [gasping] ‘What a derogatory word! How dare he?’ Not in a million years. I don’t know why she just, you know, flipped all of a sudden.… It was funny because [on the call with Kanye, Taylor] said, ‘When I get on the Grammy red carpet, all the media is going to think that I’m so against this, and I’ll just laugh and say, ‘The joke’s on you, guys. I was in on it the whole time.’ And I’m like, wait, but [in] your Grammy speech, you completely dissed my husband just to play the victim again.”
Following the release of the “Famous” video in which Taylor Swift’s likeliness has been used, it has been reported that she was horrified. According to Hollywood Life, “Taylor [Swift] is livid. Taylor is horrified [by the ‘”Famous”‘ music video]. Taylor didn’t know what to do when she heard about what Kanye did. She is bewildered, feels betrayed and is beyond frustrated with Kanye. It is like a complete nightmare. Taylor is pissed to say the least!”
This is according to an insider who spoke to the site. If this is true and Taylor Swift decides to react, she may bash him as she did the last time or even worse, sue him. However, Taylor Swift has yet to offer any reaction to the Kanye West “Famous” video. However, Chris Brown, whose likeliness has also been used complained on Instagram posted the following caption.
“Why I gotta have the plumbers butt/crack showing WAX figure. This n—-a KANYE CRAZY, talented, but crazy.”
His wax replica was sandwiched between Rihanna, his ex, and Taylor Swift. That said, Kanye West posted a message on Twitter daring people to sue him over his “Famous” video. The message read, “Can somebody sue me already #I’llwait.” However, he soon deleted it. You can check out the screenshot here.
