Khloe Kardashian Wows With 40-Lb Weight Loss: Revenge Body Fitness & Diet


Khloe Kardashian was known for years as the chubby sister in the Keeping Up With The Kardashians family. But now Khloe is earning wows for her success in going from fat to fabulous, and she recently shared her story of how she lost 40 pounds, reported ET.

Posing for Harper’s Bazaar, Kardashian even dared to skip her usual intense makeup regime, going almost barefaced along with barefooted. And she reflected on the difference in how she is treated by the high fashion world now that she’s won her weight loss war.

“I definitely think the fashion industry, and people in general, look at me more now that I’ve lost weight,” admitted Khloe. “Even on shoots, I would never have options for clothing.”

Kardashian compared how she was received by the stylists to the treatment that her slimmer sisters Kourtney and Kim enjoyed.

“There would always be this attention on Kourtney and Kim, but I was too much work for [stylists] or they had nothing in my size. I wasn’t even that crazy big!”

Khloe shared that at times she felt hurt by the cruel comments made based on her size.

“Other people actually said, ‘I just can’t work with you’ — because I was too big,” recalled Kardashian. “That always hurt my feelings.”

In the beginning of her weight loss journey, Khloe turned to the gym to cope with the problems that she was having in her “dark and toxic” home with Lamar Odom, her estranged husband. But the reality TV star hid what was happening from her close-knit family.

“At the time, my family didn’t know what I was going through. It was the biggest secret I’ve kept. I just needed a place to go,” explained Kardashian in describing her motivation to head to the health club. “They had a TV and I could watch The Real Housewives on an elliptical. No one talked to me. I loved that solitude.”

But gradually Khloe shifted from using the gym as a place to escape her stress at home to using it as a way to sculpt her revenge body. With help from celebrity personal trainer Gunnar Peterson, Kardashian focused on a regime involving three to five workouts every week. Her fitness plan includes cardio and circuit training.

And beware if you try to get in Khloe’s way when she wants to work out, she warned.

“I’m a beast at the gym,” boasted Kardashian. “I’m super competitive and I’m a sweater. I’m like, ‘Don’t f**k with me and don’t mess up my routine.'”

Her big sister Kourtney also works out intensely, and the two seek to outdo each other.

“I love that we can work out together. Because Kim sort of prances and is super cute and gorge, while Kourtney and I are dripping wet,” explained Khloe.

They sometimes harshly criticize themselves, however.

“[Kourtney and I are] so mean to ourselves, we’re like, ‘Oh, our butts are hanging low! And our arms!'” she admitted.

And while that fitness regime contributed to her 40-pound weight loss, Kardashian also emphasizes the importance of diet, noted People.

Khloe believes in the benefits of making gradual changes when it comes to dieting.

“You have to change your diet little by little. That’s why diets fail. I try to do lifestyle changes. For breakfast, I love eggs and oatmeal!” she shared.

Salads play a key role in Kardashian’s diet plan. And she’s not alone, admitting that she, Kourtney, and Kim have developed a habit of salad binges, as documented in the family’s reality TV show.

“I always have a salad,”emphasized Khloe.

“If you watch Keeping Up with the Kardashians, all you see is my sisters Kourtney, Kim and me binging on salads!”

When it comes to the question of whether to indulge in snacks, the reality star is a believer as long as those snacks are healthy. She always has fruit available and sips a protein shake on the way home from the gym.

As for the issue of carbohydrates, Khloe is cautious at dinner.

“I eat chicken and vegetables with a sweet potato or rice as my carb. I’m not a pasta girl, and I don’t eat bread at night,” she revealed.

From sweet treats to alcohol, Kardashian thinks it’s all right to indulge occasionally. However, she is focused on portion control.

“I’ll have a handful of M&M’s or a piece of pizza,” she admitted. “If I drink, I have one or two glasses. It’s about understanding limitations.”

And it’s also about what to eliminate from her diet. Khloe has said farewell to almost all types of junk food as well as dairy.

“I used to eat nachos with artificial cheese, and too many sweets,” confessed Kardashian. “I had acne in my 20s.”
