‘Big Brother 18’ News: Details about New Mystery Competition Released [Spoilers]

The premiere of Big Brother 18 demonstrated how the game has changed dramatically, as four veterans returned to the house, teams were formed, and it was announced that a new competition would be revealed that would shake up the houseguests. Although this mystery challenge has not yet been aired, details of the new competition have been released, including its name and how it is to be played.

According to People, this new game-changing competition is called “The Big Brother Road Kill” and was completed individually by each cast member “still in the competition.” The winner of this novel game will have the ability to change things up like never before.

People reported that The Big Brother Road Kill competition will take place on a weekly basis and will be held in the Big Brother RV, which will be sitting in the backyard each time the game is played. In the first instance of the new competition, each cast mate will be required to remove an article of clothing, starting with a track suit until they get down to just a bathing suit. At the same time, houseguests must try to keep three buttons in front of them pushed down.

The Big Brother 18 houseguests will begin the challenge with “their right foot and both hands on the buttons, but are able to use any body part to keep the buttons down once the timer starts,” People stated.

However, if any of the buttons gets released, the timer will begin to speed up dramatically by 30 times until the button is pressed again. Thus, according to People, if two buttons release at the same time, the timer will speed up by 60 times, and if three are released simultaneously, the timer speeds up by a whopping 120 times.

The person who finishes The Big Brother Road Kill in the fastest time will win the competition and gain a power that they will secretly be told of in the diary room, according to People.

According to Joker’s Updates, the power was won by Frank and was used to nominate a third person to sit on the chopping block for possible eviction on Thursday night’s live show.

When on Big Brother 14, Frank was a powerhouse beast in competitions, so it’s no surprise that he was victorious in The Big Brother Road Kill competition.

According to People, their staff writer Patrick Gomez was given the opportunity to take a shot at the competition prior to the Big Brother 18 cast members and he found it to be much more challenging than he thought it might be.

People reported that Gomez said he thought he would be able to use his elbow to keep one of the buttons pushed, while using his “hand to remove some of the other clothing.” He further noted, he “made good use” of his left foot but regretted not thinking about “using other body parts,” such as his head. All in all, Gomez’s official time in The Big Brother Road Kill competition turned out to be 15 minutes and.5 seconds, which sounds fairly quick considering the challenge itself.

Apparently, after his victory and using his power, houseguest Frank chose to nominate Paul for eviction. That meant that instead of two people being at risk of being sent home, three Big Brother 18 houseguests would sit on the chopping block: Jozea, Paulie, and Paul.

Nevertheless, Joker’s Updates reported that the Big Brother Power of Veto (POV) competition has also taken place involving some kind of “doggy” theme, and one of the possible evictees won the challenge. Paul took the POV home and removed himself from the block.

In this new era of Big Brother, it is now unclear whether the week 1 Head of Household (HOH), Nicole, will be required to nominate another player, or if the nominations will remain the same and consist of just two houseguests. But, chatter on live feeds seem to suggest another nominee will be chosen, and possibly not by the HOH.

According to Joker’s Updates, Frank was heard telling Tiffany that he wants to nominate Bridgette, and then later joked he should place himself on the block. Subsequent to that, Michelle suggested to Frank that he place Bridgette on the block as a pawn.

So, it seems that maybe the winner of The Big Brother Road Kill not only gets to nominate another cast member after initially winning the challenge, but if that person is somehow removed from the block due to the POV, the Big Brother Road Kill victor is possibly able to replace that nominee with another houseguest.

Of course, none of how this new competition is played can be certain until Sunday’s episode.

Big Brother 18 airs on CBS Wednesday and Sunday nights at 8 p.m. Eastern Time, and Thursday nights at 9 p.m. Eastern Time. Big Brother After Dark airs on Pop Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights at 12 a.m. Eastern Time, Tuesday at 11 p.m. Eastern Time, and Thursday at 1 a.m. Eastern Time. Live feeds are broadcast from inside the Big Brother 18 house 24 hours a day, seven days a week and are available from CBS All Access.
