‘The Vampire Diaries’: Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder Reunion Not Happening As Nikki Reed Is Scared Of Possible Love Affair?

The Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder have always been admired by their fans due to their amazing chemistry on the supernatural show. The couple’s amazing on-screen chemistry was also because they were actually dating in real life.

However, their affair ended in 2013, and soon after the actor started dating Nikki Reed, and the were married on April 26, 2015, in California. After Season 6 of the CW’s TVD, Dobrev decided to move on from the show due to her prior commitments, and fans have been speculating about a possible reunion of their favorite characters ever since.

Unfortunately, it looks like the reunion will never happen. According to a report from Parent Herald, Dobrev’s return to the show is not at all possible, as Somerhalder’s wife, Reed, feels scared that if her husband and Dobrev appear on the show together, then there is a possibility of a love affair between the former couple.

The report from the publication completely contradicts the view of show creator Julie Plec, who, during her interview with TV Line, stated that the CW will surely try to bring her back to the show.

“In my opinion, she was very clear about what she wanted the next step in her life to be, and she’s doing a great job of achieving that. So I’m sticking with my side of the plan, which is to bring her back at the very end.”

Hollywood Life also reported that if Dobrev and Somerhalder share the screen again, then Reed has no problem with the reunion, as she has complete trust on her husband.

“Nikki and Ian are so in love. There’s nothing he could possibly do to upset her. The idea of Ian and Nina reuniting on screen for The Vampire Diaries doesn’t bother her one bit. She has no issues with this whatsoever.”

In an interview with E! News, even Dobrev confirmed that she still loves Somerhalder and will never do anything to jeopardize his married life with Reed.

“I love him and the friendship is still strong and I think he’s great and I care about him, and that didn’t change. Yes, we’re professional and that’s fine. We were friends long before we dated and we still are now.”

As far as Somerhalder’s role is concerned in The Vampire Diaries, the star himself confirmed during his conversation with TV Guide that along with other characters, his character is most likely to leave the supernatural series by the end of Season 7.

“We have decided to do one last season to really do the story justice. It’s almost like we’ve been chasing a high for the last five, six years. So let’s take things one step at a time: Season 7 wrap, vacation, lots of sleep, let the writers get started on Season 8, and then we’ll all see where we go from there.”

On the other hand, Somerhalder and Reed love to show how much they both are in love with each other. Earlier this year, the couple’s social media activity proved that in spite of rumors about the actor and his ex-girlfriend, the couple is indeed very much in love. Although it’s been only one year, the couple can’t help but show their love for each other.

“Salty… sandy… sticky… sunburned. The best. I love this human,” Reed shared on Instagram. “My human.”

Somerhalder got in on the Instagram action and posted a picture of him and Reed posing together with the ocean as their backdrop during Valentine’s Day.

It looks like the couple has never been afraid of expressing their love for each other online. In fact, if someone looks at their social media accounts, then they will see their accounts filled with cute posts about each other. As far as the rumors are concerned about Nina Dobrev’s involvement in Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed’s life, fans of The Vampire Diaries can stay calm, as the reports are merely speculations by the fans.
