Netflix News: ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 6 Coming Soon

The Walking Dead Season 6 has faced an onslaught of spoilers online ever since that eventful season finale that had people talking. But there are groups of people who do not have cable and wait every year for seasons of The Walking Dead to be released on Netflix to stream the show.

In years past, those people who have waited for the most current season of The Walking Dead to release on Netflix have had to do so at major risk. Since this is the age of information, and with the onset of social media, it is almost impossible to go online and not see a spoiler or two for your favorite series, which especially includes The Walking Dead.

Then there is the problem that Netflix fans of The Walking Dead run into every year. AMC likes to take its time releasing content on Netflix. So much so that in most cases, fans only have a few days, if that much, to catch up on the most current season of The Walking Dead on Netflix before the new season premieres on AMC.

Therein lies a problem for AMC. Most fans of The Walking Dead will not start watching a season unless they are caught up on each and every episode that came before it on Netflix. There are continuity issues at stake and since The Walking Dead is a serialized drama, then the show is only engaging if every episode before it has been watched. That’s why if AMC continues to releases the most current seasons of The Walking Dead on Netflix late, it could cost them in their live ratings. The Walking Dead is currently the highest-rated TV show on cable and the highest rated TV show among adults 18-49 on cable and broadcast combined.

If there was ever a good reason to release The Walking Dead Season 6 on Netflix early, then this year is the one. For those who are reading this article, you need to be warned that there are MAJOR SPOILERS that lie ahead for Season 6 of The Walking Dead.

There was such an influx of events that happened in Season 6 of The Walking Dead that it has been the most talked about show on all of social media. The events at the beginning of the season, which include the faux death of Glenn Rhee and the Walker invasion of Alexandria, eclipsed any other show that was on television in the fall of 2015.

But then, in the winter of 2016 when The Walking Dead returned, things went from bad to worse and some of the most iconic moments from The Walking Dead comic book series started taking shape. Of course, this is what got fans really hyped for the show because they knew that another “big-bad” was coming, and his name was Negan.

The Walking Dead producers had to keep such a tight lock on spoilers for the show that they did not even shoot the final scene of the season until that same winter, which means that they did not even announce the casting of the character of Negan until then either. Of course, fans now know that that it was Jeffrey Dean Morgan who filled out that ballot and got the part.

But for fans who need to catch up on Season 6 of The Walking Dead, there is a good chance that it could be released on Netflix well-before the October premiere date of Season 7 on AMC. The cliffhanger from Season 6 of The Walking Dead will definitely be enough to bring fans to their TV screens for the premiere, but AMC could get so many more numbers if they simply give The Walking Dead fans a chance to catch up on the episodes on Netflix.
