Salma Hayek Reveals Her Insecurities And How She Stays Sexy At Nearly 50 Years Old

Salma Hayek has been one of Hollywood’s naturally stunning beauties for decades now, yet the Fools Rush In star admits that even she struggles with body image issues.

While speaking with Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of her latest film, Septembers of Shiraz, which was held at the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles this past Tuesday, Hayek shared about her insecurities.

“I don’t always feel I look so amazing. [I have] insecurities. [Just] like everyone else!”

A good man in her life has been sure to remind Salma of her striking beauty and gorgeous physique, the way the rest of the world perceives the 49-year-old ageless beauty. Salma’s husband, François-Henri Pinault, has the easy task of making Hayek feel like she’s “still got it.”

“I still feel a little bit [sexy] because my husband is very good at making me feel like I still got it. But it’s ok, it’s not the most important thing in my life to feel the sexiest.”

Although Hayek seems to be in great shape with the perfect hourglass figure, the star admits that she really doesn’t like to exercise. However, Salma has used the advice of a personal trainer while in London who instructed her on how to keep in shape simply by going about her daily routine, no gym necessary.

“She showed me a way to rearrange the muscles and the way you operate with them. It’s wonderful to be present with your body instead of just collapsing into the bones.”

The star is a mother to four, three step-children and her daughter Valentina, who turns nine in the fall, just following her mother’s 50th birthday.

“I’m very blessed because I have three stepchildren, so I have a family of four kids,” said Hayek, who welcomed her daughter when she was 42. “Four is enough.”

The actress is all about family and sees this part of life as being the most precious far and above any material possession.

“It’s not success in this or in that, or money or things, or beauty. What if you’re really beautiful and you’re not loved? That’s not gonna make you happy. But what makes you happy is, for me, my family. [They are] the biggest blessing I have.”

When it comes to family and having fun, Hayek seems to have a great sense of humor. The star recently made headlines for her attempt at faking an affair as a practical joke on her hubby. It seems her loving husband knows her all too well and called her out on her funny scheme.

While on the Graham Norton Show, as Entertainment Weekly relays, Hayek shared the details of the prank she had lined up, which never got past Pinault.

The actress shared that she came up with a great plan to pretend she was having an affair but at the end would say “No, I got a dog,” which was meant to make her husband feel relieved.

Pinault knew all too well that his wife would not truly have an affair, but he is aware of her love for animals. The beauty shared her words to her husband, who quickly was on to Salma’s plan.

“I’m so tired, and I’m so lonely here for so many days and you do things in this crazy state!” The punch line to her scheme hit before she could even get out her speech. “Oh, please don’t tell me you picked up another dog,” said Pinault.”

He just knows Salma all too well.
