Zayn Malik Smokes, Drinks ‘A Few Beers’ To Calm Anxiety Before Shows

Zayn Malik has asked for Adele’s assistance in battling anxiety, according to the Mirror. The former One Direction star reportedly reached out to the “Hello” singer to give him advice about anxiety management.

It’s long been known that Adele suffered from anxiety early in her career. And it appears that Zayn Malik can’t battle his anxiety issues on his own, which is why he needs to seek advice from fellow singers. In fact, according to sources close to Malik, he has been battling with anxiety throughout his career.

It turns out that those who think Zayn Malik developed his anxiety issues after One Direction announced its extended hiatus are wrong. So the singer’s team has reached out to Adele’s manager Jonathan Dickins to share the “Hello” singer’s tricks to deal with anxiety.

Adele admitted that she had panic attacks early in her career and was afraid of performing in front of large crowds. But it appears that the “Rolling in the Deep” singer overcame her anxiety issues. And now, Zayn Malik wants to find out how exactly the 28-year-old singer managed to do that.

Even though Adele confessed several years ago she would never do festivals in her life, as the mere thought of “an audience that big” scared “the life out of me,” the “Hello” singer is headlining her first ever Glastonbury Festival this weekend.

“I have anxiety attacks, constant panicking on stage, my heart feels like it’s going to explode because I never feel like I’m going to deliver, ever.”

Performing in front of large crowds seems like a problem for Zayn Malik as well. Just last weekend, the former One Direction star pulled out of his gig held at Wembley Stadium. The singer later said he has been struggling with mental health issues for quite some time.

After the incident, Zayn Malik was quick to release a statement in which he said he was “haunted by anxiety,” which is why he had to cancel his performance.

“Unfortunately my anxiety that has haunted me throughout the last few months around live performances has gotten the better of me.”

In fact, Zayn Malik went as far as describing this incident as “the worst anxiety of my career.” He also appealed to people suffering from anxiety, saying that they will understand his struggles.

As revealed by a source close to Zayn Malik and his management, the singer’s team is doing “everything they can” to get his anxiety issues under control. The source added that his panic attacks are having “a major impact” on his singing career.

And now that Zayn Malik’s team got in touch with Adele’s representatives, he is hoping to overcome his anxiety once and for all and, like Adele, to have it under control.

“After the issue last weekend it has become a matter of urgency.”

The source also explained what kinds of anxiety issues Zayn Malik had to go through when performing in front of large crowds during his One Direction days. It appears that he would “sweat, moan, complain,” and the only two things that calmed him was smoking and “a few beers beforehand.”

Zayn Malik has recorded a track for the new Ghostbusters movie, according to the New Zealand Herald. The track is part of the unofficial soundtrack for the remake of the legendary film starring Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones.

However, the song won’t be featured on Zayn Malik’s debut solo album, Mind of Mine. Apart from Malik, stars including Mark Ronson, Elle King, Wolf Alice, Fall Out Boy, and Missy Elliot have recorded soundtracks for the film, which hits theaters next month.
