All Five One Direction Guys Reuniting? Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson Rumored To Be In Secret Talks

Fashion Style is reporting that the original five members of One Direction — Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik — may be reuniting when the band’s hiatus is finished. The mag claims that Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik may be in “secret talks” about reuniting as a five-piece.

It comes days after Zayn Malik canceled his performance at the Capital Summertime Ball, saying he was plagued by anxiety.

Enstarz reports that Zayn’s girlfriend, model Gigi Hadid, is pushing for the Mind of Mine singer to reunite with Harry, Louis and the 1D boys.

“Gigi is urging Zayn to get back together with One Direction for his health. Zayn has always suffered from anxiety and since he has gone solo, it has only gotten worse. Publicly Gigi has been very supportive of Zayn’s troubles and privately she has been advising him to seek refuge with the guys in One Direction. She knows they have had their ups and downs over the years, but Zayn was always able to perform with his mates around him”

Apparently Gigi “feels [that Zayn’s] position with the group was better for his mental health.” When it comes to performing, Zayn “can’t get it together on his own,” according to the report.

“Zayn can’t get it together on his own, he is more comfortable in the group,” the source continued.

“He is great in the studio alone but performing for large crowds is too much for his anxiety. Gigi’s advice has been for Zayn to get back together with the guys, do some touring and once he feels better, venture off on his own career again.”

When Zayn left One Direction in 2015, he stayed friendly with Liam Payne and Niall Horan, but there were claims that Harry Styles “felt betrayed” when Zayn abandoned the guys in the middle of a tour, especially as Styles had always been Malik’s biggest supporter in the group. There were even reports that Harry and Zayn had an emotional phone conversation the day before Zayn announced that he was quitting the band — Harry had apparently been hoping to coax his One Direction brother back onto the tour.

As for Louis Tomlinson, when Zayn left Louis became embroiled in a very public Twitter feud with Zayn’s new friend and collaborator, Naughty Boy. Metro has provided a helpful timeline of the feud between Zayn, Louis and Naughty Boy, which played out mainly on social media but ended with an aggressive physical display when Louis stomped on a pinata emblazoned with Naughty Boy’s face during a One Direction concert.

Malik himself has since fallen out with Naughty Boy.

Zayn told Billboard after he left One Direction that he had never felt free to be himself in the band.

“I genuinely enjoyed [the band] and did whatever I could to be myself within that, but it’s just not where I sit as a musician…The other boys’ taste was generally indie rock. Its good music, but I don’t f**k with it. That was never cool where I was from.”

There were reports that tensions between Harry Styles and Zayn Malik flared very recently when Zayn gave an interview to Dazed, saying that he did not feel he was “treated like an artist” during his time in 1D with Harry, Louis, Liam and Niall.

Harry Styles was said to have blasted Zayn for his continued criticism of the band and willingness to “bite the hand that fed him for so long.”

Hollywood Life reported that Zayn was surprised that the guys were taking his remarks personally.

“Zayn doesn’t understand why Harry or any of the other guys are taking what he said in his recent interview personally… He never said he had an issue with the members. He feels like he’s being attacked for no reason. He has nothing but love for the guys and just wants to move on.”

Could Zayn have reached out to Harry about a One Direction reunion? If the heartthrobs are planning to meet, they may be able to do so in London. Harry Styles is filming for Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk in France and the Netherlands, then flying home to the UK when he has time off filming.

Just today Harry was spotted in London having lunch with his mum Anne Twist.
