Heather Dubrow On Giving Vicki A Second Chance: ‘The Decision Was Easy’

Heather Dubrow was very vocal last year about her feelings for her Real Housewives of Orange County co-star, Vicki Gunvalson. Heather didn’t want to film with Vicki for this current season of the show, and she was essentially campaigning for Bravo to leave Gunvalson out of the show. But Bravo asked all of the ladies to come back and they all signed contracts to film the show. And maybe time has healed some wounds, because Dubrow wanted to include Vicki in her party that was the focus of this premiere episode.

According to a new Bravo report, Heather Dubrow is now revealing that she wanted to reach out to Vicki and give her a second chance, even though her co-stars didn’t want to see her. Tamra Judge, Meghan King Edmonds and Shannon Beador didn’t really feel that Gunvalson should get a second chance, and when Heather Dubrow announced that she would be inviting Vicki to her party, Tamra had a feeling that Shannon would be upset. But Dubrow feels that everyone deserves a second chance.

“Of course I invited Vicki, because even though I don’t condone her behavior of last year, I feel everyone deserves an opportunity to exonerate themselves. Also, I thought about how Vicki stuck by Shannon when she wasn’t included in Meghan’s charity event last year, so the decision was easy,” Heather Dubrow reveals in her Bravo blog for The Real Housewives of Orange County, sharing that she found it very easy to extend an invitation to her co-star.

The reason why Dubrow decided to reach out to her co-star has to do with her very own husband, Terry Dubrow. Over the holidays, the Dubrow family suffered a health scare. Terry got a false-positive test in regard to an issue with his heart, which could have resulted in a triple bypass surgery. Luckily, things worked out well, but Heather realized that life is short and that everyone deserves a second chance.

“After Terry’s health scare I decided it was time to celebrate life and health…and given the fact our house is STILL not done (I know, ridiculous, kill me) I thought it would be fun to have a party on a boat and cruise the harbor,” Heather Dubrow explains in her blog, sharing that she was very emotional about everything they had gone through over the holidays.

“I didn’t expect anything to happen at the party, just a group of friends hanging out together and celebrating love…until Vicki pulled me aside for a talk… Tune in next week for that…,” Heather Dubrow explains, sharing that things may not be as good and calm after their conversation, which will air next week.

During the episode, fans met the new housewife, Kelly Dodd, who will prove to be a fun addition to the cast. And Heather seems to really enjoy this new housewife, even though she may be a bit too much for Shannon Beador. The preview for next week’s episode could hint that things are tense between Kelly and Shannon.

“We meet Kelly Dodd in this episode, a friend of Meghan’s. Any friend of Meghan and Jimmy would always be welcome at a party of mine — I adore them. I didn’t get a lot of time with her that night, but watching the episode it’s clear she enjoys a good catch phrase and a good pun,” Heather Dubrow explains of the new housewife, sharing that she already has a good feeling about this new housewife, who may stir up some things on The Real Housewives of Orange County.
