Shannon Beador On Vicki Gunvalson: ‘I Was Used And I Was Lied To’

Shannon Beador revealed that she had no interest in filming with Vicki Gunvalson on The Real Housewives of Orange County after the cancer scandal was exposed last year. Shannon, alongside Heather Dubrow, Meghan King Edmonds, and Tamra Judge, had no interest in coming back on the show if Vicki was signing on to film. They all felt that she had lied about Brooks Ayers’ cancer and that she must have known that he was faking his illness. Beador hasn’t talked to Gunvalson for a while, and she reveals that her fight with Vicki has actually brought her closer to her other Real Housewives of Orange County co-stars.

According to a new Bravo report, Shannon Beador is now revealing why she decided to end her friendship with Vicki. And it sounds like Beador has no plans of ever making peace with the OG of the OC again. Instead, Shannon reveals that she would rather be smart about the whole thing and distance herself from the cancer that is her friendship with Gunvalson.

“After the reunion last year, I made the decision to end any friendship I had with Vicki. I was used and I was lied to. I don’t think that there are many worse things than involvement with fabricating cancer, an illness that has touched so many people in one way or another. I don’t want to rehash or dwell on the things that happened last year. I have made up my mind and I am not going to change it,” Shannon Beador reveals, sharing that fans should not expect Beador to make peace with Gunvalson.

Usually on the Real Housewives of Orange County seasons, the ladies are very firm on who they like and don’t like. But things change over time, as Tamra Judge and Gretchen Rossi were enemies, then best friends. Same thing with Tamra and Gunvalson. It comes and goes in waves, so many fans probably wouldn’t be surprised if Shannon Beador and Vicki became friends again.

But it sounds like this damage digs deep for Beador. As she watched the premiere episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County last night, Shannon was notably upset about the comments that Vicki was making about her. Gunvalson hinted that Shannon was a very angry person and that she needed to let go of her anger.

“I get very irritated when I heard Vicki say that I “hate everyone and hate the world.” How can she say that I am full of anger and hate? I am full of love and living an amazing and happy life with my family. I haven’t had one conversation with Vicki in over eight months. She has no idea what is going on in my life and how well everything is going. I think she is trying to deflect once again and put her own emotions onto someone else. I am not hateful because I do not want a friendship with Vicki anymore; I am smart,” Shannon Beador explains in her Bravo blog for the show.

Beador watched along with everyone else, as Gunvalson remembered what it was like the day Brooks Ayers decided to move out of the home they shared in Orange County. She remembers lying on the floor, crying and begging him not to go. Ayers has said that their relationship failed due to the other women on The Real Housewives of Orange County, as they kept questioning his cancer story and kept adding friction to their relationship. Shannon Beador remembers being lied to, and she admits that she can no longer trust Vicki.

What do you think of Shannon Beador keeping her distance from Vicki Gunvalson? Do you think Shannon will be able to move on and ignore her co-star while they film future seasons of The Real Housewives of Orange County?
