Green Bay Packers: 5 Reasons They Will Win The NFC North

The Green Bay Packers still have the memory of the disappointment that they felt following their overtime loss to the Arizona Cardinals in the playoffs last season fresh on their mind. It was a rough way to end the season, but the Packers are expected to be right back in Super Bowl contention during the 2016 NFL season after a good offseason.

Aaron Rodgers and the Packers’ offense will be much more lethal with Jordy Nelson healthy again and the defense could take a big step forward as well this season.

Last season was a disappointing year for the Packers in the regular season. They were unable to knock the Minnesota Vikings off in their Week 17 matchup, which gave the NFC North division title to the Vikings. Green Bay will do everything in their power to get back to the top of the division this season after that rough finish to the 2015 campaign.

It is going to be an entertaining for Green Bay and their fan base to say the very least. They strongly believe that they have a chance to win Super Bowl 51, and they will consider anything less than that a bust of a season.

All of that being said, what five reasons support the statement that the Green Bay Packers will win the NFC North division title in 2016?

Aaron Rodgers Is Still the Best Quarterback in the NFL

Even though many thoughts that Rodgers struggled last season, he is still the best quarterback in the NFL. He will show that with another huge season this year and will be in the NFL MVP conversation. Green Bay’s offense will once again be one of the most lethal in the league assuming they stay healthy and Rodgers will lead his team back to dominance.

Eddie Lacy Will His Career Back on Track

Eddie Lacy had an extremely rough 2015 season but has attacked the offseason hard and has gotten himself back in shape. He will come out with a big season and get his career back on track. Lacy is a huge part of the Green Bay offense, and that will show once again this season.

Clay Matthews and the Pass Rush Will Pick Up

Green Bay showed flashes of having a lethal pass rush last season and that will pick up again this year. Clay Matthews is expected to switch back to the outside linebacker position, which will give the Packers even more talent on the edge. Opposing teams will have a very difficult time passing on them, and when they do, their quarterback will take some big hits.

Talented Secondary Will Take the Next Step

Last season showed that the Packers have the type of secondary who can disrupt the passing lanes and make big plays. They relied on rookie Damarious Randall a lot throughout the season and also saw fellow rookie Quinten Rollins step up in some games. Sam Shields is still their No. 1 corner and all of them will come together to take the next step and become a dominant secondary this season.

Green Bay’s Wide Receiving Corps and Tight Ends Are Arguably the Best in the NFL

Looking at the offensive weapons that the Packers have put together, they have arguably the most talented group of wide receivers and tight ends in the entire NFL. Jordy Nelson returning to the field will make a massive upgrade to the offense, and his return will also make Randall Cobb more effective. Jared Cook will have a major impact at the tight end position and will help Rodgers bounce back with a huge statistical season.

Expect to see the Packers come out strong to start the season and carry it through all year long. They will win the NFC North and will be a legitimate Super Bowl contender as well.
