Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke plays a queen who is sometimes unapproachable by the legions she commands, but unlike Daenerys Targaryen, Emilia isn’t opposed to opening up to her fans. In recent interviews, Clarke talks about getting her big break on Game of Thrones, for which she still feels fortunate, and reveals some of her deepest secrets about the series and about her own feelings. Among those revelations, Emilia talks about her celebrity crush and her feelings about how she might react in finding herself facing a ménage à trois with that crush.
Emilia Clarke Isn’t Boy Crazy…No, Seriously
The Game of Thrones actress has spoken about her love for the opposite sex on more than one occasion and, unlike most, Emilia displays a down to earth sense of humor about dating and socializing. She once confessed to hanging out at one trendy Los Angeles restaurant, because she likes to watch the boys, who she described as “pretty.” In fact, Clarke commented that everyone at the restaurant was pretty, but added that wasn’t the only reason for spending time at the restaurant. She added that the food was just as appetizing as the clientele.
For those interested in a possible run-in with the Game of Thrones actress, the restaurant in question is Gjusta.
Another scenario was created, when Jai Courtney, interviewing Ms. Clarke, asked what her Terminator Genisys character, Sarah Connor, and Daenerys Targaryen might do together on a girl’s night out.
“Ryan Gosling might be there, just ’cause I think they probably would both think he was really hot,” Emilia says, revealing her celebrity crush.
Does that mean the Game of Thrones actress would be open to a ménage à trois with Gosling as the center of attention?
“Why not?” Clarke replied. “I’m just throwing that one out there. If he wants to pick it up at any point, I’m fine with that.”
Game Of Thrones Star Emilia Clarke Still Feels Lucky To Have Nabbed The Role Of Daenerys Targaryen
From the very beginning, Emilia Clarke says she’s felt lucky to have gotten her Game of Thrones role and she reveals that, as soon as she dons the blonde wig that is so much a part of Daenerys Targaryen, she feels completely transformed. While the costume helps, she admits feeling nervous in the beginning and says she kept author George R.R. Martin’s first book with her throughout filming.
“I had my notes all in it, [it was] dog-eared and I carried all of my notebooks around,” says Ms. Clarke. “Then with each season it becomes more about what the script is saying, getting to know that person.”
While some actors fear being associated with a single role or being typecast in the same types of roles over and over, Emilia says that she loves being so closely associated with Daenerys. Being known as the Game of Thrones queen is certainly good for her career, but Clarke says she’s also fond of being synonymous with Daenerys because the character has such a compelling story arc and also because the character has so many intriguing qualities.
There’s no doubt that Emilia is becoming an icon in her own right, but even the mighty have heroes of their own and Ms. Clarke is no different. The Game of Thrones actress reveals a love of classic cinema when asked who her role models were as a young girl.
“Lucille Ball is one actress I’ve always looked up to. She’s just crazy, and uses as much of her face as possible. And then you’ve got good old Audrey [Hepburn]. That kind of grace really affected me at a young age,” reveals Emilia Clarke. “To see someone hold themself with such grace I just found magnetic.”
The Game of Thrones season finale is scheduled to air on Sunday, June 26 on HBO.
