Chewbacca Mom Action Figure Unveiled By Hasbro

Chewbacca Mom is now an action figure. Candace Payne, also known as Chewbacca Mom, became an Internet sensation last month after she posted a video of her reaction to a Chewbacca Electronic Mask that she spontaneously bought at Kohl’s, and now she has been immortalized as an action figure, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The 27-year-old mom of two turned Internet star visited Hasbro headquarters where she was presented with her very own Chewbacca Mom action figure by Hasbro Chief Executive Officer Brian Goldner. The custom Chewbacca figure has the classic Star Wars character’s body from the neck down, but the head is modeled after Payne’s face. The figure also includes a removable Chewbacca mask.

A Hasbro rep told EW that the Chewbacca Mom action figure features 13 catchphrases pulled from Payne’s viral video, including, “That’s not me making that noise, it’s the mask,” and “I am such a happy Chewbacca,” Payne’s signature laugh—which is really what made the video go viral—is also featured as one of the doll’s sounds.

Candace Payne’s Chewbacca Mom video became the most-viewed Facebook Live video of all time, with more than 150 million views, and it made her an instant star. Payne has since been a guest star on Good Morning America and James Corden’s late night show and has met everyone from Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee to The Voice mentor Pharrell Williams. But her visit to Hasbro made this Chewbacca mom especially happy. After her visit, Payne posted to Instagram to thank the toy company for rolling out the red carpet for her clan—literally.

Shortly after she became a bona fide Internet star, Chewbacca Mom told People that she was in shock over her instant notoriety.

“It’s something I really can’t grasp and understand but I’m just riding every single wave of this and enjoying every single moment,” Payne said in May. “Taking it all in.”

Payne said that her kids, Cadence, 7, and Duncan, 6, were still too young to understand her newfound celebrity, but she credited her husband, Chris, as being her “rock” and her “biggest support system.” Candace also revealed that it was her husband who introduced her to the Star Wars film franchise, and that they recently shared the movie series with their kids.

Of her celeb status, Chewbacca Mom also described her trip to James Corden’s show “probably the coolest thing that has ever happened in my life,” and she gushed over her invite to tour the famed Lucasfilm headquarters in San Francisco.

“I was just happy that I got a special badge and they let me in,” Payne said.”I just kept thinking to myself, ‘They’re gonna kick me out at any minute. I’m not worthy!'”

The mom of two said she is grateful for all of the opportunities that have come her way since that fateful day that she filmed herself wearing a Chewbacca mask.

“I think I can hold my own, but man, I am extremely grateful for every opportunity,” she said. “I’ll tell you that the people that I’ve met the past few days have just been incredible people – and not just the ones that I’ve been sitting on the couch with. Those on the street, or in the hotel, or in the airports wanting to take a photo with me. I’ve just been blessed. “Doors have been opened for opportunity, and I’m just excited to see what the future holds.”

While Time magazine reports that Payne has received nearly $500,000 in gifts and paid travel since she posted the Chewbacca Mom video last month, some things are priceless. Like getting a custom Hasbro action figure.
