North West Had The Cutest ‘Little Mermaid’ Party Ever: A Look At The Kardashian Kid’s Lavish Bashes

North West went under the sea for her big day. The daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West celebrated her third birthday with a Little Mermaid-themed bash alongside her cousin, Penelope Disick, who will turn 4 on July 8. Glamour posted a series of pics and Snapchat stills that showed the too-cute Kardashian cousins celebrating with their friends and extended family in a way that only this clan knows how to do.

North West and Penelope were decked out in matching mermaid outfits for the outdoor birthday bash, and, according to Glamour, each little girl had her own individual mermaid cake. Of course, it’s no surprise that the grown Kardashian women got into the act, too. North’s mom Kim Kardashian West wore a green mermaid tail to the party, while aunt Khloé wore a lavender wig. Khloe’s wig reportedly came at the request of North and Penelope.

North West and Penelope’s aunt Kylie Jenner also helped document the special family party on social media, posting pics of her nieces posing with princesses.

According to E! News, guests at the dual birthday bash included Malika Hagg, as well as North’s daddy Kanye West. E! also revealed that Hansen’s Cake in Los Angeles—a bakery favored by another party pro, Tori Spelling— whipped up the girls’ personalized marble cakes with chocolate chip buttercream filling.

North West turned 3 years old on June 15, and the Kardashian-West family celebrated that day by traveling to the Disneyland Resort, where the tot posed with some familiar Disney characters while wearing a stylish pink princess gown and a tiny bun with a crown in her hair.

North’s famous mom also posted a special message to her on Instagram, saying her baby girl promised her she wouldn’t get any bigger. Kim also posted a message telling North how much she loves her.

While North West’s Little Mermaid bash was definitely the bomb, Kim Kardashian and her clan are known for their elaborate themed parties. In fact, when Kim was pregnant with North in 2013, even her baby shower invitation was over the top. TMZ posted a pic of the pricey invite, which was delivered to guests via a real music box that featured a spinning ballerina that danced to Kanye West’s song, “Hey Mama.” The baby shower was a garden-themed breakfast buffet and all of the Kardashian sisters were dressed as garden goddesses for the garden chic event.

For North’s first birthday, Kim and Kanye West threw an epic music festival-themed bash. According to Us Weekly, the West family’s Kidchella (not to be confused with California’s annual Coachella festival), was a huge outdoor event that featured face painting, a ferris wheel, a bounce house, glow sticks, and snow-cone, funnel cake, and cotton candy food stands. In addition, friends and family members jumped on stage to sing their favorite songs to the birthday girl. North was dressed in cute music festival attire with a Coachella-style flower garland on her head.

For North’s second birthday last year, it was a trip to Disneyland with the clan. The West’s little princess was decked out in a Mickey Mouse t-shirt and red lace ears, according to Entertainment Tonight, and she even had Minnie Mouse-themed face painting. North’s birthday party at Disneyland started at 10 a.m. and went past 6 p.m. with all of her aunts, cousins, and even Kylie’s then-boyfriend Tyga and his son, King Cairo, on board to celebrate with her at the Anaheim, Calif. park. The famous crew ruled the rides and ate barbeque for lunch at a restaurant adorned with gold balloons that spelled out North’s name.

Of course, after all of these elaborate parties for North West, Kim and Kanye will now have to give equal time to their second child. The high-profile couple will really have to think of something special to mark their son Saint West’s first birthday in December.
