Comic-Con Offering Most Disturbing ‘Walking Dead’ Toys Ever [Spoilers]

Fans of The Walking Dead have a lot of exciting things to look forward to at Comic-Con this year. First of all, the Inquisitr previously reported that a Comic-Con exclusive Walking Dead trailer will air at the event and give fans the first look at both Ezekiel and his beloved tiger, Shiva. Now, it turns out that fans of collectables will get one of the most disturbing Walking Dead action figure sets ever made at Comic-Con this year.

Debuting at Comic-Con this year is the new “Negan & Glenn” action figure set. According to Comic Book Resources, this Comic-Con set will come with the Negan and Glenn action figures. Negan will have his beloved barbed wire baseball bat, Lucille, and Glenn will have an axe. However, this collectable Comic-Con exclusive set will pay tribute to issue No. 100 of The Walking Dead comics and come with the exclusive “smashed Glenn head.” The retail price is $50.

For fans who haven’t read the comic books, the storyline there is slightly similar to the one from The Walking Dead television show. Rick and company were out when they were ambushed by Negan and his men. Negan mentioned that Rick had killed his men, and something had to be done. He then had all the heroes on their knees and then chose to use his bat Lucille to bash in the head of Glenn, killing the popular character in a shocking final scene from issue No. 100.

Unlike The Walking Dead comics, the television show did not show who Negan killed, instead having the scene take place from the point of view of whoever Negan killed and then going to black. Fans have to wait until August to learn who died at the hands of Negan on the TV show. That means these new Comic-Con exclusive Walking Dead action figures might not be spoilers for the TV show.

There have been a number of differences that separate The Walking Dead TV show from the comic books. Shane lived much longer on the show than he did in the comics. Daryl doesn’t even exist in the comics and basically replaced Tyreese, who showed up later on the show in a very different form. Last season, the death of Denise on the TV show was how Abraham died in the comic books.

With that said, the idea that Glenn is the character that Negan killed at the end of Season 6 is not set in stone. As the Inquisitr previously reported, Steven Yeun, who plays Glenn, was spotted near the set where they are shooting Season 7 of The Walking Dead, alongside Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl. While this does not mean Glenn is safe, it does mean that he was either there to shoot scenes or to visit.

However, whether Glenn lives or dies on this season of The Walking Dead, this Comic-Con exclusive collectable action figure set will likely be a huge seller for fans of The Walking Dead comics. It has always been true that anyone could die in the comics and on the show, and Glenn’s death was the most shocking moment in the entire run of the comic books when it happened.

As a result, The Walking Dead action figure set at Comic-Con relives a very memorable moment in time for the entire franchise. If October rolls around and it turns out Glenn died at the hands of Negan and Lucille on the show as well, that makes this Comic-Con set even more special. There is also the chance that The Walking Dead Comic-Con trailer will help eliminate many of the names fans are worried about, as well. Comic-Con takes place in San Diego, California, from July 20 through July 24 at the San Diego Convention Center.
