Ryan Seacrest Booted From ‘E! News,’ Apparently Because He’s Too Busy

Ryan Seacrest has apparently been booted from his position over at E! News, though media outlets can’t seem to agree as to the why. Regardless of the reasons, Seacrest is officially leaving the show on November 12th to make way for a new co-host for Giuliana Rancic.

In other news, Terrence J of BET’s 106 and Park is ending his 7-year run on his show as well. Actually this is the same news, because Terrence J has been tapped as the new co-host of E! News to replace Seacrest, reports Deadline. For Seacrest’s spot on E!, Terrence J will become Terrence Jenkins and fill the role that the 37-year-old media personality has long-held.

“Having Giuliana and Terrence for the weeknight program, and Jason and Catt for weekends, gives us a quartet of skilled, popular broadcast journalists and will give viewers a fun, fresh look at pop culture news,” said E! President of Network Strategy and E! News Cyndi McClellan.

As for Seacrest, the mostly-official reason for his departure is that his career is “pulling him in many directions” right now, though oddly enough, the American Idol host didn’t say much of anything regarding his leave, other than deadpanning a “welcome” to Terrence J on his Twitter:

In other Seacrest news, he apparently sold his love nest with Julianne Hough (a $11 million dollar mansion in California) for a half a million dollar loss. He traded up the mansion (formerly owned by Kevin Costner) for the swanky former Beverly Hills digs of Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi.
