Dixie Chick Emily Robison Gives Birth To Daughter, Violet Isabel

Emily Robison of the Dixie Chicks welcomed another little one to her brood early Tuesday.

According to Us Weekly, Robison and boyfriend Martin Strayer welcomed a daughter, Violet Isabel, on Tuesday morning. A rep for the 40-year-old singer said the following in a press release:

“Emily Robison and Martin Strayer are ecstatic to announce the birth of their new baby girl,” according to the rep’s statement released Tuesday afternoon. “Violet was born at 3:01 am on September 4, weighing 8.5 lbs. Mom and baby Violet are doing well and Dad couldn’t be happier!”

Violet is Robison’s fourth child. Robison has three children with ex-husband Charlie Robison: Juliana Tex and Henry Benjamin, both 7-years-old, and Charles Augustus, who is 9-years-old. Violet is Strayer and Robison’s first child together.

Already, social media outlets are awash with congratulations and praise for Robison’s baby news with the official Facebook page of the Dixie Chicks repeating the rep’s announcement with just under 5,000 likes as of this posting. The Dixie Chicks on Twitter also congratulated Robison, writing:

The Dixie Chicks have been on a hiatus since 2007, reportedly so that the trio could spend more time with their respective families. They have made several guest appearances, tours, and performances since the break, most recently at the Concert For Wildfire Relief in Austin, Texas in 2011. During the show, Natalie Maines said that there was “zero hesitation” when the group was asked to do the show.

Congratulations to Emily Robison on her new daughter!
