Domhnall Gleeson On His Relationship With His Father And Starring In ‘Harry Potter’ Together

Domhnall Gleeson is a rising star in the film industry, and rightfully so, with roles in Star Wars, The Revenant, Ex Machina, and the Harry Potter series of films as Bill Weasley. He has even gone on the record to compare his Star Wars character, General Hux, and his Revenant character, Captain Henry, and see who would come out on top of the other in a flat-out brawl, according to the Telegraph.

Domhnall Gleeson spoke on who would win in a fight between General Hux and Captain Henry.

“I feel like Captain Henry would be quite an honorable fighter, whereas Hux would do whatever it takes. He’ll bite your ear off, or kick you in the b*lls, or whatever it is that will get him an advantage.”

Domhnall has the pressure of creating his own legacy weighing heavily on him, despite it being apparent that he is on the right path to making it. People might know him as the son of Brendan Gleeson, who also starred with him in the Harry Potter series of films as Mad-Eye Moody, and it may actually hamper his potential in creating a legacy. Although the pressure is very much there, Domhnall still remains proud to be his father’s son and does not mind being known as the son of Brendan Gleeson, according to Goss.ie.

Both Domhnall and his brother, Brian, feel proud to be the son of their father. Domhnall Gleeson spoke on what being the son of Brendan Gleeson means to him and his brother. He noted that people really respect their father and that he feels proud to be his son and happy with the positive relationship that they share.

“I don’t want to sound big-headed about my dad, but I think they enjoy him because he has done good stuff. I’m very proud of the ‘Brendan’s son’ tag. A lot of people don’t have a good relationship with their father at all. I have a brilliant relationship with mine and I love his work, so I’m very happy to be my father’s son.”

He knows for a fact that being an actor will not be easy for him and is ready to face that. Domhnall understands the struggle of the business. Domhnall Gleeson spoke about how it feels to be an up-and-coming actor and how he understands the struggle.

“To not get work for a while, or to have a bad experience on a film, these things still have to happen to you so you can truly know how the business can be. It’s complicated with three of us in the family, that’s half the family doing it, but it’s good because we’re all enjoying ourselves.”

It does look like Domhnall will be having a bright future indeed as he has also recently been cast in the upcoming film Goodbye Christopher Robin, according to Comic Book.

Fox has recently announced that Simon Curtis’ upcoming film will be recruiting Domhnall Gleeson along with Margot Robbie in the cast. Domhnall will be playing none other than the creator of Winnie the Pooh, A.A. Milne. Simon Curtis has expressed his excitement about having Domhnall Gleeson on the project along with the rest of the cast. Serving as an interesting challenge for Gleeson, the film promises to give fans a glimpse into the story behind the family which brought Winnie the Pooh to life.

The film will detail the relationship between the character of Domhnall Gleeson and the son of the author, Christopher Robin. It will also show how A.A. Milne used his son’s collection of stuffed animals and toys as inspiration for the now-legendary stories that he wrote.
