Jillian Michaels, new mom and trainer extraordinaire, is all set to return to The Biggest Loser this January, according to The Clicker. Michaels, who recently welcomed a baby boy into her world, has had her hands full as of late. In addition to this little bundle of joy, Jillian adopted a little girl, as well. In other words, scheduling The Biggest Loser during that time was a bit of an issue. However, it would seem that Michaels is all set to return to primetime television.
This season, The Biggest Loser and Jillian Michaels are preparing to deal with childhood obesity. For the first time in the show’s history, the trainers will focus their attention on a handful of teenagers who are struggling to keep their weight under control. The opportunity to help the younger generation has proven to have its own set of challenges.
“The producers of the show have been consulting some of the top experts — pediatricians, child psychologists — to help us deal with this in the most delicate and appropriate ways,” Michaels explained during her appearance on the TODAY Show. “For example, we won’t be saying things to kids like, ‘How much weight did you lose?’ It’s about getting them healthy, using words like ‘healthy.’ We won’t be getting them on a scale; it’s about getting them on a softball team — things like that. We’re very cognizant of how touchy it is, how controversial it is. And yet, of course, that’s right where I want to be, right in the sweet spot, right in the frying pan. I couldn’t miss an opportunity to be part of it.”
Although motherhood has softened Michaels a bit, she still has a very low tolerance for adults who don’t treat their bodies with respect. “I am a different person, motherhood changes your DNA. However, being a mom and doing this job are very different aspects of my life and personality,” she said to Yahoo! News. “I’m not going to make any promises.”
The Biggest Loser returns with Jillian Michaels this January. At present, a specific date has not been set.
