Blake Lively ‘Feels Exploited’ When It Comes To Ryan Reynolds And Baby James

Blake Lively revealed in an interview about her upcoming movie, The Shallows, that she will do everything to protect her budding family. Maybe it’s her maternal instincts, seeing as she is currently pregnant with the second baby.

“All my eggs are in one basket, and that’s my family,” Blake said to Marie Claire. “That’s where my heart is. That’s where my everything is… My family: That’s the thing that I feel most protective of and the thing that I feel is the most exposed when I feel exploited.”

It’s likely that The Shallows star is referring to the time when her husband’s friend sold a picture of their first baby to the media, which destroyed not just their friendship, but also trust in their closest circle to honor their family’s privacy.

She also revealed in the interview that she wants to raise her daughter James (and the baby in the oven!) in the most normal fashion.

“Ryan had a nice, normal upbringing, and we want our kids to have the same normal life that we had,” she said. “We don’t ever want to rob them of what we had, because we’d feel really selfish.”

Since then, the 28-year-old actress has been able to recover from feeling “exploited” and have been able to proudly emerge as a working mom. Not only did she take Cannes Film Festival 2016 red carpet by storm with her amazing dresses, she is also releasing a new movie on June 24.

The Shallows, which is a shark thriller with the west coast actress as the sole star, is looking to hit big with its small production value.

“Maybe the online buzz isn’t translating to mainstream interest, but with a movie like The Shallows, a relatively inexpensive bruised-forearm offering in the middle of the summer, it doesn’t need to be a blockbuster (or set up a franchise) to be a hit,” reports Forbes. “And in the summer of 2016, when everything is a tentpole, the explicitly non-tentpole sticks out as the special one. We’ll know soon enough (maybe it’s terrible), but I wanted to write about it.”

Her husband, Ryan Reynolds, has been super supportive of her career, both before and after their baby, James, came along. Not only did he take the reigns in nurturing James when Blake was away shooting Cafe Society, which opened this year’s Cannes Film Festival, but he will continue to be there for the baby when she is away promoting The Shallows this summer.

In the interview with Marie Claire, Blake revealed that she knew “he would always be my best friend for my whole life,” and that’s the reason why she wanted to marry him.

And it looks like things are about to change in a major way for the Lively-Reynolds household! The couple was seen house hunting in Manhattan, possibly to move into the city when she delivers their second baby.

“While their stunning country home has all the space in the world for the ‘litter’ of kids this mom wants, seems this couple are needing a little more space in the city for their growing family,” reports Daily Mail. “It appears Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds may be talking a lead from Blake’s tummy and expanding their property portfolio. The pair were seen checking out some places in New York on Wednesday, with the 38-year-old actress’ bump suggesting they do not have long to look.”

A source told the publication that “the pair were definitely starting the nesting process on Wednesday [and that they] spent the day looking at luxury apartments in the desired Tribeca neighborhood.”
