Media Superstar Michael Strahan To Host New ‘$100,000 Pyramid’

Beginning June 26, 2016, Michael Strahan will host ABC’s The $100,000 Pyramid. Known for his quick wit and charm, Michael Strahan has become one of television’s most recognizable celebrities. Strahan appears on morning television, movies, and commercials, and also hosts weekend sporting events. Michael Strahan is renowned for his numerous achievements in the world of sports and media entertainment.

Prior to Strahan becoming a television fixture, he terrorized quarterbacks for 15 years as destructive defensive end Michael Strahan of the NFL’s New York Giants. In 2001, Strahan set a record for most sacks, and won the 2007 Super Bowl. After his glory days as a football legend subsided, Strahan began co-hosting the morning television program Live! With Kelly and Michael. Michael then recently traded one morning show for another, joining morning-television juggernaut Good Morning America in the process.

In addition to his newfound gig on GMA, Strahan will serve as host for the reprised Pyramid game show. Per the Hollywood Reporter,

‘The network, which found success last summer with Celebrity Family Feud, has ordered a revival of $100,000 Pyramid, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. The new version of the classic game show will be hosted by Michael Strahan, who co-hosts Live! With Kelly and Michael, from ABC’s syndicated arm, and also serves as a contributor on Good Morning America.’

ABC execs have decided to produce 10 episodes of The $100,000 Pyramid. ABC hopes viewers will support the re-birth of this long-running game show.

The Pyramid series first aired on March 26, 1973, as The $10,000 Pyramid and was hosted by Dick Clark. Mr. Clark is the host most associated with the show, hosting from 1973-1988.

To become $100,000 richer, a contestant must reach the top of the Pyramid in the shortest time possible. A celebrity and an average citizen team up against the same to play a word-association game that will be filmed live in New York.

There are many celebrities ready to compete on The $100,000 Pyramid, and here are a few: Rosie O’Donnell, Robin Roberts, Martha Stewart, Snoop Dogg, Anthony Anderson, Weird Al Yankovic, Justin Long, and Alfonso Ribeiro. It is obvious that contestants will have a blast with these celebrities and the anticipation of winning $100,000.

Strahan himself admitted to being a huge fan of the original Pyramid show. The sack king had this to say concerning his affinity for the long-running game show.

“Growing up, Pyramid was one of my favorite shows to watch with my family. Watching the celebrities and players become a competitive team is always fun to see. I’m looking forward to bringing it back for the new generation to enjoy as well!”
