Babysitter Accused Of Horrifying Abuse On Two Children

A babysitter from Brockton, Massachusetts, has been arrested on allegations that she brutally abused two children in her care over a span of several months. WCVB News reports that 31-year-old Nancy Intelisano was taken into police custody on Thursday after an investigation found that she may have caused numerous injuries to two young boys.

Authorities in Brockton allege that Intelisano abused a 4-year-old boy and his 9-year-old brother over a course of at least six months, while she was living under the same roof as the children and their mother.

Enterprise News reports that the investigation began last month when the younger child’s mother took him to the hospital after he had broken his arm. At the time, the babysitter claimed that the child broke his arm when he was jumping from couch to couch, which caused him to fall. However, medical examiners determined that the severity of the break could not have come from falling from a couch during horseplay. Instead, hospital staff alleged that the boy had to have been forcefully pushed or pulled by his arm in order to cause the fracture.

A broken arm wasn’t the only injury the 4-year-old boy had on his body. Doctors noted that he had bruising on his belly, as well as a black eye and other various scrapes. One of his teeth had also been chipped, and he had a burn of some kind on his upper lip. It had become immediately apparent to doctors, and police, that the 4-year-old boy was the victim of violent child abuse.

As detectives began to investigate the possibility of child abuse in the home inhabited by the Massachusetts babysitter, they uncovered an array of disturbing details. DCF caseworkers interviewed the 4-year-old and his 9-year-old brother, and the two boys revealed that they had been victims of violent abuse over a course of at least six months while Intelisano was living under their mother’s roof. The 4-year-old and 9-year-old boys told authorities that most of the abuse took place when their mother wasn’t home, but occurred in front of the babysitter’s own children, who were also in the home.

The 9-year-old boy told caseworkers that his little brother “had been bad” so the babysitter sat on his stomach and rubbed her lit cigarette across a cut he had in the palm of his hand. This was allegedly confirmed by an open sore he had on his palm when examiners looked over his numerous injuries. The older boy also told authorities that Intelisano would continually burn the boy’s hand over a span of time to keep it from fully healing. In other words, the Massachusetts babysitter is accused of torturing the children she had in her care.

The boys also alleged that their babysitter would punish them when they’d urinate themselves, by making them sit outside in their soiled clothes for several hours at a time. The police report outlining statements made by the children indicated that the Massachusetts babysitter would taunt them after locking them out of the home.

“They were not allowed to come back into the house until the suspect let them. One time, they were out on the porch and Victim No. 2 had to pee. He ended up peeing his pants on the porch because he ‘really had to go.’ When the suspect let Victim No. 2 back in, she threw him across the kitchen floor and threw clothes at him to change into. The suspect said to him ‘Change now pee pee boy.'”

Intelisano has been charged with two counts of reckless endangerment of a child, six counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery on a child under 14, two counts of indecent assault and battery on a child, and two counts of assault and battery, suffocation, threats to commit a crime, and intimidation of a witness.
