Blake Shelton And Gwen Stefani: Blake Reveals One Thing Gwen Won’t Do For Him That Miranda Lambert Would
Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani might try to spend as much time together as they can when they’re not busy with their music careers, but Blake recently revealed that Gwen won’t be joining him while he enjoys one of his favorite recreational activities during his time off.
According to Contact Music, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have “agreed to disagree” when it comes the ethics of hunting animals for sport. During his recent interview with Rolling Stone, Blake revealed that hunting in his home state of Oklahoma is his number one way to unwind when he gets a break from being on The Voice or working on music.
“Sometimes I’ll go hunting for caribou in Canada, or elk hunting. But bowhunting white-tailed deer in Oklahoma is my favorite thing. It takes me back to my childhood. There’s just so many memories and special things that have happened to me that revolve around deer season, honestly. It’s my favorite time of year.”
According to Field & Stream, Blake Shelton’s ex-wife, Miranda Lambert, used to accompany him on these hunting trips. Miranda revealed that she bagged a few trophy bucks during their time together in Oklahoma, and she enjoyed the challenge of hunting squirrels when she got bored with shooting at deer. Based on Blake’s response to being asked whether he’s ever taken Gwen Stefani hunting with him, there’s no way the Hollaback Girl will be bagging her own trophy buck anytime soon.
“I know you know better than that,” Blake said. “I can just see her: ‘Get ’em!’ That makes me laugh.”
Rolling Stone points out that Gwen is an animal rights advocate, and she’s also vegan. As the Inquistr previously reported, Gwen brought up her aversion to eating meat when she was asked to address a rumor that Blake Shelton had proposed to her with an engagement ring buried in a bucket of KFC chicken. Gwen seemed pretty repulsed by the thought of rocking a diamond dulled by a layer of fried chicken grease.
Gwen Stefani might not be a fan of hunting deer or eating meat, but she does enjoy one of Blake Shelton’s other favorite outdoor activities that involve animals ending up as dinner. According to Entertainment Tonight, she took her 10-year-old son Kingston fishing on Blake’s Oklahoma property last month. Gwen proved that she loves the great outdoors just as much as Blake does by helping Kingston catch a huge frog and accompanying her son while he drove a buggy down a country road.

Gwen Stefani isn’t just embracing the great outdoors because Blake Shelton is a country boy; Gwen has always enjoyed activities that involve getting a little dirt under her perfectly manicured nails. According to Glamour, she and her ex-husband, Gavin Rossdale, used to take their sons on fishing trips. Blake also told Entertainment Tonight that Gwen loves to ride horses, which is why he bought her a horse named Halo.
“We got her horse and I got myself a horse at the same time,” Blake said. “Gwen, she loves riding and she loves horses. It’s actually so funny that people are so shocked by that, but if you can name me one girl on the planet that doesn’t love horses or just think that they are beautiful.”
So while Gwen Stefani and Blake Stefani might seem like polar opposites, the pop princess and the country crooner actually have quite a bit in common.
Perhaps Gwen Stefani will be relieved to know that the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation website says that deer season doesn’t start until October, so she can enjoy spending all of her free time with Blake Shelton for a few more months before she loses him to the thrill of the hunt.
