Prince Harry Teased By 6 Year Old At WellChild Awards
Two weeks after Prince Harry ditched his clothes and donned his birthday suit at a private Las Vegas shindig, the 27-year-old appeared at at the WellChild Awards in London, according to US Magazine. Although he decided to keep his clothes on for this particular event, a 6-year-old boy wasn’t about to let the prince forget about the very embarrassing incident that continues to haunt the poor guy wherever he goes.
The Daily Mail reports that six-year-old Alex Logan, who suffers from leukemia, told a television station earlier in the day that he intended to tell the prince “I’m glad you’ve got your clothes on” at some point during the ceremony. However, when the youngster came face-to-face with the Las Vegas party-goer, Harry decided to nip the comment in the proverbial bud.
“You keep looking up at your Mum. It looks like you’re dying to say something but you’re worried she’ll tell you off,” Harry said to the boy. “I heard you were on TV earlier and you said something cheeky but let’s not talk about that here.” To drive his point home, the prince playfully wagged his finger at the boy.
Alex, who decided to stay on Harry’s good side, opted to rub his stuffed penguin on the prince’s head instead.
Before giving a speech at the WellChild Awards, Prince Harry attempted to lighten the mood with a little humor. “I’m never shy in coming forward,” he joked, a quip that was reportedly followed by a room full of laughter.
“It is difficult to imagine to imagine a finer, more inspirational group of people than is gathered here tonight,” he explained, getting down to serious business. “I come along to the WellChild Awards knowing that I will meet old friends and make new ones. I am totally unprepared for the extraordinary reality of what greets me. I leave a very humble man.”
The WellChild Awards, which are sponsored by GlaxoSmithKline, describes itself as a “fantastic event which celebrates the bravery of some of the country’s seriously ill children and the dedication of the people who go that extra mile to really make a difference to their lives.”
