Christina Grimmie Demeanor Described As ‘Bubbly’ Right Before Shooting

Christina Grimmie, the late singer, who was gunned down after a show in Orlando, Florida, was described as “bubbly” moments before she was killed at a meet and greet.

Grimmie, who came in third place in the singing competition The Voice, was touring with the band Before You Exit. The singer, who was famous on YouTube prior to the popular competition, was murdered after a concert at Plaza Live in Orlando.

A day later, the shooter was identified as 27-year-old Kevin James Loibl of St. Petersburg, Florida. It’s said he traveled from St. Petersburg to Orlando with the intent to kill the singer. Many believe that Loibl was a deranged fan. As reported, the singer was signing autographs for fans and giving out hugs to most when she was shot and killed.

Her brother, Marcus Grimmie, tackled the gunman right after, and Loibl reached for a second gun and killed himself.

Marcus Grimmie released a statement on his Facebook page about losing his little sister.

“Christina was more than my sister. She was a partner in life. A superstar. A goofball. Introverted. And a friend to everyone. Genuinely. But above all…she was my baby sister.”

The Voice contestant was taken to a nearby hospital after she was shot three times but later died from her injuries. Now, a concertgoer, Julie Emmet, spoke to E! about witnessing the whole event.

The fan told E! News of her experience at the show.

“It really hasn’t hit me yet that she’s gone, but it’s just really shocking and heartbreaking, to have been there especially.”

The fan continued.

“She’s always so bubbly and energetic on stage. She loves what she does. It was just a normal night for her. I remember the last song she sang was a very upbeat song… She loves singing and performing. She was just very energetic like always.”

Although she didn’t see the shooter, she went on to say that acquaintances she was with did.

“People that I was with—acquaintances with—they saw [the shooter]. They were in front of him in line. One of my friends tweeted that she looked right into his eyes and smiled. She didn’t know.”

As the Inquisitr reported, The Voice coach Adam Levine, who acted as Grimmie’s mentor, has offered to pay all of Christina’s funeral expenses for her family. It’s said that Levine is also paying for her mother’s travel expenses, too.

Marcus posted on Facebook that he was “blown away” after Levine “personally called my mother and said he will pay for the funeral and her plane flight.”

Following the news of Grimmie’s death, Adam Levine posted to Twitter to express his sadness.

A GoFundMe page was set up in honor of Christina Grimmie. The page is run by Selena Gomez’s step-father Brian Teefey, who is also Grimmie’s manager. So far, the GoFundMe page has raised over $174,000.

The page states the following.

“Words cannot begin to describe the pain I am feeling. I learned this business through the eyes of a father and Christina was like a second daughter to me. All I wanted to do was assist her in achieving her musical dreams while protecting her from the pitfalls associated with the business. I never could have imagined this horrific event being one of the pitfalls needing to be avoided.”
