Was Omar Mateen, Orlando Killer Of 50, A Radical Islamic Terrorist Inspired By ISIS? [Breaking News]

Omar Mateen is the name of the man who launched the most brutal attack ever on a Florida nightclub in Orlando history, just as the business was closing and people were headed home. Now it is being revealed that Mateen was a radical Islamic terrorist, inspired by ISIS. Mateen was a licensed security guard who held a state firearms license. Fifty innocent people were killed to date, and over 50 more were injured. Mateen was born in the United States and lived in Orlando, Florida, but his parents were from Afghanistan. Reports are now indicating that Mateen was on a government watchlist, but there was no indication that he was planning something.

According to TMZ, Omar Mateen was a terrorist who was targeting gays in particular, and was looking to produce maximum carnage in the early morning hours. It is unclear if Mateen was working as part of an Islamic terrorist group targeting gays, or if he was working as a lone wolf, but Mateen was certainly part of an Islamic terrorist movement.

NBC spoke with Mateen’s father, who says that his son’s attack on the gay nightclub, Pulse, had nothing to do with religion, but rather a disgust with homosexuality.

“This has nothing to do with religion.”

Omar Mateen’s father said that Mateen had seen two men kissing in public recently in Miami and says that might have spurred the attack.

CBS News says that with 50 dead, authorities are looking into Islamic terrorist ties in Omar Mateen’s attack on the Pulse Nightclub. The attack planned by Mateen was on Pulse, considered Orlando’s hottest gay nightclub. Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer has declared a state of emergency following the attacks, which he called the deadliest mass shooting in American history.

Orlando Police Chief John Mina says that Mateen, a United States citizen with no criminal record, was armed with a handgun and an AR-15-style assault rifle. He is also calling for donations of blood, particularly of O Positive, O Negative, and AB Plasma. Anyone over 16 years of age and over 100 pounds can donate at local hospitals, or find a donation center at www.oneblood.org.

A U.S. intelligence source spoke to CBS News and said that links to Islamic terrorism are being investigated as Mateen’s motivation in the attack on patrons of the Pulse nightclub. Due to several indicators including the style of the attack similar to the recent Brussels and Paris attacks, authorities want to see if there is any link to ISIS and Islamic terrorism and Mateen.

The owners of Pulse posted messages to their patrons and loved ones of those in the club on Facebook in the early morning hours just after the attack.

“Everyone get out of pulse and keep running.”

Just before 6 a.m., the club posted an update for the public.

“As soon as we have any information we will update everyone. Please keep everyone in your prayers as we work through this tragic event. Thank you for your thoughts and love.”

Philly shared some background information about terrorist killer Omar Mateen, who is said to have lived in Fort Pierce, Florida at the time of the attack. Florida Congressman Alan Grayson held a press conference to give background information on Omar Mateen, suggesting that Mateen’s attack on the gay community at Pulse was ideologically motivated.

“Let me put it this way, the nationality of family members is indicative.”

But Mateen’s family members says that religion or ethnic background had nothing to do with Omar Mateen’s attack on the gay community. Rather, Mateen’s family members paint a picture of an unstable man motivated by his hatred of the LGBT community. Mir Seddique Mateen says that Omar Mateen’s recent experience in Miami with his family made it clear that he had a hatred of the gay community.

“We were in Downtown Miami, Bayside, people were playing music. And he saw two men kissing each other in front of his wife and kid and he got very angry. They were kissing each other and touching each other and he said, ‘Look at that. In front of my son they are doing that.’ And then we were in the men’s bathroom and men were kissing each other.”

Omar Mateen has an ex-wife, who desires to remain anonymous. She shares a 3-year-old son with Omar Mateen and calls him violent and mentally unstable. Mateen’s ex-wife says she left Mateen because of his violence and because she was being beaten on a regular basis.

“He was not a stable person. He beat me. He would just come home and start beating me up because the laundry wasn’t finished or something like that.”

In a press conference, President Obama called Mateen’s attack on the Pulse nightclub by Omar Mateen an act of terrorism.

Do you think that Omar Mateen is an Islamic terrorist or just an unstable man who hated gays?
