Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Shows Curved Edge Screen — Samsung Confirms Design Details With ‘Write On The Edge Of Something Great’ Teaser?

There were no specific details from Samsung about the new Galaxy Note 7 until now.

In their latest Galaxy Note 7 teaser, Samsung provided the tech industry with a very valuable hint that might change how we are going to welcome the new device.

According to an exclusive source to Phonearena, the new Galaxy Note 7 will have a curved edge screen. The source sent out two image teasers that show a shadow of a phablet and a pen. The other photo shows a similar shadow but with a caption, “WRITE ON THE EDGE OF SOMETHING GREAT.”

Interestingly, the pen is pointed at the edge of this smart device. If the photo is set to be legitimate, that would mean that Samsung Electronics has confirmed a vital detail of the upcoming Galaxy Note 7.

There are many speculations about the name of the new device. Since the previous version of the phablet is named Samsung Galaxy Note 5, it was rumored that they will be following through with the numerical order and call it Galaxy Note 6.

However, as new speculations start to arise, it was then discovered that the new Galaxy Note phablet will skip the “6” and go straight to being called Galaxy Note 7, to align the smart device with the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge series.

The rumor made its way to Korea last May, and it stated that the possible reason for the name change is the general feedback of the consumers. According to the report, Samsung is concerned that the consumers would just think of the new Note flagship as subpar to the new Galaxy S line. The 2016 smartphones are named Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. So, if they name it as Galaxy Note 6, the customers might think that this is a previous version of the phablet. Samsung just does not want the confusion to happen.

As for the specs, the rumors about the new Samsung Galaxy Note 7 looks promising. Even before the leaked photos came out, there were already reports noting that the new Galaxy Note 7 will have curved edges on both the front and the back, a feature that not even Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has.

It might have the new Snapdragon 823 chipset, an upgraded version of the powerful Snapdragon 820. The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is also set to have 6GB RAM.

It will reportedly have a 5.8″ curved Slim RGB AMOLED display with a 1440p screen resolution. To compensate for the multiple new features on the phablet, the new Galaxy Note 7 will have a 4,000 mAh battery and a USB Type-C charger. Just like the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones, the new Galaxy Note 7 will also be dust and water resistant.

Other unconfirmed specs for Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is the inclusion of an iris scanner. Samsung has been developing this feature for quite some time now, and the Galaxy Note 7 might be a good opportunity to introduce the feature to the market.

Meanwhile, another teaser was sent out to Sammobile. Just like the other two photo teasers, this one came in with a very powerful hint. The two photos are have a particular dark black and neon blue combo. So, this might just be from the same set of designers.

The other photo leak was simple. It had a number “7” on the center and the subtitle saying, “NOTE THE NEXT GALAXY.”

Again, if this photo will prove to be a legitimate one, that means “7” is Samsung’s lucky number this year.
