Jessa Duggar Enjoys Spotlight As Jill And Derick Dillard Work Abroad

Jessa Duggar is enjoying the spotlight with her older sister Jill abroad in Central America with her husband Derick Dillard. Because they are only one year apart, they have been often compared to each other. The fact that they got married and had a baby boy just months apart means that comparison has been somewhat inevitable.

But with her sister Jill gone, Jessa can relax into the spotlight with her baby and husband Ben Seewald.

The reality TV star recently posted a photo on her Instagram to celebrate her baby boy Spurgeon turning 7 months old, showing the world just how big he has gotten.

On the other hand, the last time that her sister Jill Dillard posted on her Instagram was over four weeks ago with this picture.

Internet connection has been unstable where Jill is, which means that she cannot stay in touch as much as she can with the fans back home.

But that is not so much an issue for Jessa as she becomes the one that most people follow in the Duggar family. The only other competition that she had to face was from her older brother Josh, who recently threw the Duggar clan into a scandal.

He has been accused of molesting children, which may or may not include his sisters, and is now doing his time in rehab.

“Josh sought treatment at a faith-based rehabilitation center in Rockford, Illinois, in August following his revelations about his addictions. The stint in rehab came just months after the family was rocked by reports that Josh had inappropriate contact with underage girls as a teenager,” reports People Magazine.

Despite the weight and severity of the scandal, the Duggar family is doing their best to re-integrate him into the public sphere that they have built for themselves.

“As we enter into a long family weekend together, we want to thank each of you for the prayers, love and encouragement you’ve sent our way,” Anna, his wife, and Josh Duggar said according to People Magazine. “It isn’t easy and some days are very difficult. It is a long road to rebuild trust and a truly healthy relationship.”

Jessa and her husband Ben Seewald have been smartly trying to put distance between their family life and strife that Anna and Josh’s family has been going through. When Jessa celebrated Ben’s birthday, she chose not to include any other Duggars in the post.

With her sister abroad, she also has been getting her opinion about increasing the size of her family via adoption.

“We have many friends who have walked this road, so we have seen firsthand the amazing power of adoption,” Jessa said to Us Weekly. “There are so many kids out there who are longing for the love of a family, and we feel strongly about opening our hearts and our home to welcome them in.”

“Spurgeon is still pretty young, but I’m sure that as he continues to grow, I will find that I tend to do some things differently than my mom did,” Jessa, 23, told Us Weekly. “That’s the beauty of the individual family. No one is identical.”

But that doesn’t mean that she has been totally pushing away her older sister. They have been known for being extremely close before they created their own lives and families with their husbands.

In fact, Jill and Jessa may be planning something that the public will be happy to find out!

“I think we will probably be pregnant at the same time,” Jill said to People Magazine. “But to say who will be first, well Israel is older… so we will see.”
