Rihanna Fans Not Happy After Singer’s ‘He’s Not Beating Me’ Comment Gets Linked To Chris Brown Assault

Rihanna has officially returned to Los Angeles after taking some well-deserved time off to vacation in the Caribbean last week, making her first stop back in the city at her favorite Santa Monica-based restaurant, Giorgio Baldi, Thursday night.

In a new video obtained by TMZ, Rihanna can be seen emerging from the restaurant after finishing her meal only to be met with a flurry of camera flashes and questions from photographers who eagerly awaited the “Kiss It Better” singer’s arrival.

While making her way to a car that was waiting outside, one videographer began hovering around the songstress’ getaway vehicle in an attempt to inquire about her recent vacation, prompting Rihanna’s bodyguard, Frank, to get stern with the videographer for blocking the singer’s path.

“Come on man, away from the car please,” Rihanna’s bodyguard can be heard telling the group of photographers before Rihanna interjects with a comment that TMZ suggests references her 2009 assault at the hands of Chris Brown, HotNewHipHop reports.

“Frank! Calm down, he’s not beating me,” Rihanna exclaims before hopping into the black SUV.

While the videographer appeared to shrug off the singer’s comment by continuing to ask about her vacation, Rihanna can be heard chuckling to herself in the backseat of the car before her bodyguard shuts the door behind her.

In response to the video, fans have begun lashing out at the news site for seemingly misinterpreting Rihanna’s comment, with one fan explaining via Twitter, “@TMZ What kinda misleading BS headline is this!!???? FOH.”

Similarly, another fan comments, “This is so misleading the video has nothing to do with Chris Tf [sic],” while another adds, “@TMZ who raised y’all?”

The news comes just a few days after Rihanna was dragged into Chris Brown’s ongoing social media feud with singer Kevin McCall, who was put on blast by fans earlier this week after he posted two photos of the “Needed Me” singer’s bruised and swollen face to Twitter in an attempt to diss Chris Brown over his history of domestic violence.

On Wednesday, Brown and McCall made headlines after exchanging a series of heated Twitter and Instagram posts in which both men blast each other over accusations of domestic violence.

In one post obtained by Baller Alert, Chris Brown can be seen instructing fans to check McCall’s record while alleging that the “Deuces” singer “has rape charges” and “beat up his sister,” writing, “Check his record. Everyone knows the bulls*** I did. THIS N**** HAS RAPE CHARGES, CLAIMS IM A WOMAN BEATER BUT BEAT UP HIS SISTER.”

In response to Brown’s accusations, McCall took to Twitter to explain, “True or False???! Im no woman beater or coward rapist YOU DEFINITELY did this!” before posting a photo of Rihanna’s battered face to the social media site.

Despite backlash from fans over his decision to post the photo of Rihanna, McCall continued his attack on Chris Brown in another post alongside a second pic of the singer, which reads, “I’ve been accused of things BUT EVIDENCE don’t lie CORWARD lol why u think thier [sic] brothers turned down MY fades, LAME.”

While Rihanna chose not to publicly acknowledge McCall’s post, the songstress previously opened up about her frustrations over the continued attention surrounding the 2009 assault case with Brown during an interview with Vanity Fair in October.

When asked if she thinks she will always be a “poster child for victims of domestic abuse,” Rihanna explained to the mag, “Well, I just never understood that, like how the victim gets punished over and over.”

“It’s in the past, and I don’t want to say ‘Get over it,’ because it’s a very serious thing that it still relevant; it’s still real. A lot of women, a lot of young girls, are still going through it,” she continued. “A lot of young boys too. It’s not a subject to sweep under the rug, so I can’t just dismiss it like it wasn’t anything, or that I don’t take it seriously.”

Rihanna concluded, “I don’t hate [Chris Brown]. I will care about him until the day I die. We’re not friends, but it’s not like we’re enemies. We don’t have much of a relationship now.”
