Teenager Shot, Killed Outside Of New York Sneaker Store

A 19-year-old was shot and killed outside of a New York store while waiting in line to buy a pair of sneakers on Friday, according to WHAM 13. Witnesses claim that two men were robbing folks waiting to purchase some shoes at Street Games when the incident took place. Although he was rushed to the hospital for treatment, he later died as a result of his injuries.

Gates Police Chief David DiCaro was shocked by the news.

“Look this was a 19 year-old that was killed because they were trying to steal his money,” he explained. “All he wanted to do was buy a new pair of shoes. It is a tragedy, it really is a tragedy and we’re going to do everything we can to bring him to justice.”

The San Antonio Express reports that the two suspects allegedly stole money and property from several people waiting in line for the sneakers before turning the gun on Montre T. Bradley. The teenager, along with several other individuals, were gathered outside of the store to purchase the latest footwear from Nike.

Although Bradley had caused some trouble in the past, his family explained that the 19-year-old was beginning to get his life in order. His aunt, Denise Seymour, opened up to WHAM 13 about her nephew’s desire to improve himself:

“He wanted to change his life, he said I want people to believe in me because nobody believes in me that I could be a good boy and I said you can, right here on this step right here he had some little twisties in his hair, ha, he was growing dreads and I said I believe in you. I believe that you can get anybody to trust you again and all that negativity can become positive it starts today gave him a big hug.”

Following a short pursuit, police were able to catch one of the teenager’s killers. The other suspect is still on the run.
