Sorry Bruce, Will Ferrell Did It Better: ‘Robert Pattinson And Kristen Stewart’ Skit Tanks

Selling a franchsie that’s seen better days is never easy. And on last night’s The Late Show With David Letterman – Bruce Willis showed the world just how hard it is.

Willis, veteran Hollywood hardman and someone who was actually funny in Moonlighting, attempted a copycat of Will Ferrell’s genuinely hilarious rip of some Twilight fans’ reactions to Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s recent relationship woes.

But whereas Ferrell’s satire on Conan O’Brien’s show reached, Willis’ sloppy second sunk like a stone.

Out promoting his fifth film in the Die Hard series – A Good Day ToDie Hard– after bantering with Letterman, Willis introduced a clip as if it were a preview of his forthcoming film. The star proceeded to gurn through stilted dialogue revolving around how upset he was over Pattinson and Stewart’s alleged breakup.

In the skit, “Twi-Hard: With A Vengeance,” Willis was surrounded by full-on disaster props, what appeared to be two sets, walkie-talkie’s, a faceless villain negotiator and even explosions.

It still didn’t fly.

After the clip was shown, embarrassingly, Letterman felt the need to get to his feet and lead the studio audience in prolonged applause.

Question: How did Ferrell made it look so easy just sitting in chair? Answer: Will Ferrell.
