Sonja Morgan Says Bethenny Frankel Is Right To Be Upset Over Business Drama

Sonja Morgan thought she would get support from Bethenny Frankel over her new Tipsy Girl line on The Real Housewives of New York. But when Frankel learned about Morgan’s plans to launch a Prosecco line with a very similar business name, she flipped out. Bethenny kept calling Morgan’s business a “cheater brand” and told her that she was “done” with her.

And her actions on last night’s episode of The Real Housewives of New York prove it. During Ramona Singer’s Christmas party, Bethenny started walking away when Morgan showed up to the party, and she had no interest in talking to Sonja even though all of her co-stars were pushing her to talk to her.

According to a new Bravo report, Sonja Morgan is now revealing that she understands why her co-star is so protective of her business. Bethenny has revealed that she was completely broke when they started filming the show, and she didn’t know how to pay rent. These days, she’s worth an estimated $100 million.

“I’m so happy to see Lu and Carole make up. I can see how protective Bethenny is of her business and rightly so. I always looked to her as so invincible at business, but she has deep emotions related to her biz,” Morgan points out on her blog, sharing that she does understand why the Skinnygirl mogul is so protective of her business.

Frankel has no interest in Sonja — or anyone else for that matter — copying her business products and success in hopes of getting a piece of the pie. Instead, she would probably prefer that the ladies do something else that’s original and doesn’t have the word “girl” in it. And while Morgan may respect Bethenny’s wishes, it doesn’t sound like she has any plans of slowing down with Tipsy Girl.

It was interesting to learn that Ramona and Luann had tried to convince Sonja to drop the entire Tipsy Girl thing because they knew Bethenny was upset about it. It was shocking to see how she was being persuaded by the other ladies to rethink her product venture even though she had already had a talk with Frankel that didn’t go so well. Morgan had no plans of letting this Prosecco go.

“When I walk into Ramona’s holiday party of 12 people I had no idea what had transpired in the Berkshires. Bethenny is obviously going through so much. Now I have Lu and Ramona meddling after not having me in the country. Why are they saying let’s save Carole? From me? Why didn’t they say Bethenny left because of the drama with Lu?! That she was wiped out from that and didn’t want to go at it again. Once again they are claiming concern and protection,” Sonja Morgan points out on her blog.

But the most troubling thing may be her friendship with Ramona Singer — or the lack of a friendship. Morgan and Singer used to be the best of friends, but things have changed. According to Reality Tea, Morgan hints that her friend changed after her divorce from Mario Singer. And on her blog for The Real Housewives of New York, Sonja Morgan points out that her friend should support her rather than criticize her.

“Ramona made a derogatory comment about my fashion collection on Watch What Happens Live when Andy Cohen asked her about it instead of being a supportive friend. Now Lu says when crying to the girls in the Berkshires about me that my businesses aren’t doing well! I’m just starting up. It takes years in the fashion business if you even survive,” Sonja Morgan points out on her blog, sharing that she’s surprising that Singer isn’t more supportive of her business ventures these days.
