Rihanna stepped out in London last night wearing a pair of thigh-high snakeskin boots and a slightly mismatched top and leather mini skirt.
Rihanna is no stranger to bizarre clothing choices, but it seems like the 24-year-old singer could have found a better match for the boots than a dark red leather mini skirt and a black “Trapstar” sweatshirt, reports The Daily Mail.
Her snakeskin boots and mini skirt follow a figure-concealing black maxi dress and matching baseball cap, complete with clunky black boots. As for Rihanna’s Styled to Rock TV show? An insider said of the new show that:
“It’s pulled in respectable ratings. It airs on a tough night against big shows such as Jack Whitehall’s ‘Bad Education’ and it’s difficult to launch a new show against strong competition.”
Yahoo! Music notes that Rihanna was immediately slammed by animal rights activist group PETA, who has slammed the singer for her wardrobe choices in the passed, calling her “callous” and a “freak.” The PETA spokesperson went even farther this time, picking on Rihanna’s admittance to still loving Chris Brown. The spokesperson said that:
“[Rihanna] may not have a clue that snakes killed for boots are often nailed to a tree and skinned alive. Of course, they can’t go on Oprah to cry about it.”
Yahoo! also noted that, while snakeskin boots are in right now:
“Rihanna would’ve benefited from matching them with very subtle, more refined pieces—give those boots the complements they deserve! Or just go all out crazy with standout everything because we all love a hot mess fashion extremist. Either way, it’s better to have an outfit that is eye-popping than eye-rolling—you’re Rihanna after all!”
