Tom Cruise Has Not Seen Daughter Suri In Almost 3 Years: Scientology Blamed

Tom Cruise allegedly has not visited in person with his daughter Suri since she was 7. The reason? Now 10-years-old, the little girl has been neglected by Cruise because of the Church of Scientology, sources told Page Six.

Neither Suri nor her mom Katie Holmes (Tom’s former wife) is a Scientologist. Because the church does not allow its members to mingle with non-believers, Cruise has stayed away from his little girl for almost three years.

“If he wanted to see her, he could see her,” revealed one of the sources. “Even people in prison have a right to see their children.”

Described as intelligent, with good manners, Suri resides in Manhattan, where she attends school. The insider emphasized that the lack of a relationship between the 10-year-old and her father is due to Tom.

“She’s thriving. She’s got lots of friends and a nice, normal life. This is his loss, his issue, his problem. He must be really brainwashed.”

In addition, Scientology expert Tony Ortega explained that although Katie and Suri have unfavorable labels when it comes to the church, as a celebrity Tom would have certain privileges. Ortega reveals that Holmes would be viewed as a suppressive person (SP), while Suri would be labeled as a potential trouble source (PTS).

“But the thing about Scientology is, celebrities get to break all the rules,” emphasized Ortega. “That’s why I find this so mysterious.”

Moreover, the lack of contact between father and daughter goes beyond face-to-face visits. In addition to the 1,000-day period since Cruise visited with Suri, he has not even talked with her on the phone, an insider revealed to In Touch.

Another insider told In Touch that Tom and his daughter at one point used Skype to communicate. However, even those forms of contact have fallen.

“They used to Skype and text, but that trailed off drastically. He uses his film commitments as an excuse, but the truth is that doesn’t hold much weight with Suri anymore.”

Adding to the allegations that Scientology is to blame for Cruise’s failure to stay in touch with his daughter, the insider pointed to the church’s “disconnection” policy. Scientology members are not encouraged to associate with anyone who has exited the church. As a result, since Katie left the Church of Scientology when she broke up with Tom and took Suri with her, Cruise has disassociated himself from both his former wife and his little girl.

“Tom eats, breathes and sleeps Scientology,” clarified the insider. “He’s disconnected from Katie, and then de facto from Suri, because of her connection to Katie. He hasn’t seen her since she was 7.”

Holmes’ mother, Kathleen, has helped in raising Suri, recently accompanying the little girl after she took a Los Angeles gymnastics class, reported the Daily Mail.

Katie’s daughter was beaming and giggling, in addition to poking out her tongue, after her fitness class. When Holmes and Tom divorced following their five-year-long marriage, Katie received custody of Suri.

As for the allegation that Cruise cites his movie career as the reason for not visiting his daughter, he has been involved in a minimum of one movie annually since the divorce. The list includes Rock Of Ages and Jack Reacher (2012), Oblivion (2013), Edge Of Tomorrow (2014) and Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation (2015).

And Tom continues to focus on his movie career. Shooting in England, Cruise is now at work on The Mummy in London. The actor has two different films that are in the post-production stages, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back and Mena. In addition, Tom will be involved in three new movies, Top Gun 2, M:I 6 – Mission Impossible and Luna Park.
