Toni Braxton Goes Public With Birdman Romance And Reflects On Working With Prince

Toni Braxton has finally come clean about her secret romance with Birdman.

According to TMZ, Braxton has officially confirmed that she is in a relationship with the rapper.

Birdman showed up at Braxton’s latest concert at Fox Theatre in Atlanta. The CEO of Cash Money Records received a warm welcome from the crowd while Braxton encouraged Birdman to join her and her sisters.

Although the two have been rumored to be together for years, this marked their first major public appearance together. In fact, Braxton even referred to him as her “boo” at one point during the performance.

According to Rap-Up, neither Braxton nor Birdman have confirmed the status of their relationship.

Of course, Birdman joining Braxton on stage is a clear sign that something is going on behind-the-scenes.

“Ladies and gentlemen,” Braxton told the crowd in Atlanta. “Birdman.”

Then, one of Braxton’s sisters brought up Birdman’s Breakfast Club cameo and told fans to “respect that man.”

Although their romance has yet to be confirmed, Braxton and Birdman have worked together in the past. In fact, the two collaborated on two singles in 2002, including “Baby You Can Do It” and “Give It Back.”

Along with introducing Birdman onstage, Atlanta’s mayor, Kasim Reed, and councilmember Kwanza Hall, gave Braxton a key to the city.

Meanwhile, Braxton has more to celebrate than the prestigious key to Atlanta.

Not only has Toni Braxton sold over 67 million albums across the globe, but she has also built up quite the legacy. Part of her illustrious career includes her work with the pop legend, Prince.

Speaking of Prince, the Braxton Family Values star sat down with NBC News and shared a few of her favorite stories from working with Prince over the years.

“Out of all the singles and songs that people know, ‘Breathe Again’ is definitely my favorite because it really makes me joyful,” Braxton stated. “Although this time when I was in rehearsal practicing, it made me tear up a bit because Prince actually told me that this was his favorite songs of mine. So, performing it now means much more to me than it ever did.”

Following Prince’s tragic and unexpected death, Braxton shared a heartfelt tribute on social media. When asked about her fondest memory of Prince, Braxton revealed that a weekend in Vegas stands out amongst the rest.

“But my fondest memory of him is when we hung out in Vegas. He came to my show at the Flamingo and then I went to his at the Rio. After that, we hung out, ate and drank. Well, Prince didn’t drink, but I had a few glasses of wine,” Braxton shared. “I miss those times of getting to know him better because we all were intrigued by his mysteriousness. But once you got to know him, you understood why he was so special. His energy couldn’t be contained.”

Braxton went on to add that Prince actually taught her a lot about the music industry and how to keep her integrity whole.

“The one thing I loved most about him was his advocacy for artists in the industry. He taught me about preserving my music, my talent and to never compromise my integrity,” she said. “Prince was one of the artists that called me when I was about to retire and he said, ‘Toni Braxton, you cannot retire. It’s too early and you’re gifted to even think this.'”

When Braxton went through her second bankruptcy, Prince swooped in and offered her a spot on his tour. In the end, Braxton remembers Prince as being like an older brother to her that was always there, even during her hardest times.
