LeAnn Rimes Files Lawsuit, Claims Her Privacy Was Invaded

LeAnn Rimes might soon be heading into rehab, in the meantime she is suing two women who she claims violated her privacy rights by taping a conversation and then spreading it around the world wide web.

The lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court and involves Kimberly Smiley and Lexi Smiley. LeAnn Rimes claims the women are supporters of Brandi Glanville, Eddie Cibrian’s ex — and that they are engaged in a campaign to smear LeAnn’s name after she destroyed the couples marriage.

According to LeAnn Rimes she called Kimberly in the Spring in an attempt to have her negative internet campaign against the singer stopped. LeAnn says she tried to be nice and just wanted a peaceful resolution to the fighting.

Instead Rimes claims that Kimberly and Lexi chose to secretly record their conversation and then cut and paste it into out-of-context excerpts that cast a “false and negative light” on LeAnn Rimes.

The Lawsuit also claims that the women called LeAnn “crazy and delusional” without providing any valid proof for their comments.

Along with the slander and libel LeAnn Rimes is claiming an invasion of privacy.

LeAnn Rimes is reportedly heading to a treatment facility for stress that was quite possibly brought on by this incident.

The singer also plans to file an official report with police so criminal charges can be filed against the two women named in the lawsuit.

The defendants have yet to respond to the court filing which just reached the L.A. Superior Court system.
