Nina Dobrev Regrets Austin Stowell Split, Ex-Boyfriend Moves On With Emma Stone

The Vampire Diaries alum Nina Dobrev is reportedly devastated with news of ex-boyfriend Austin Stowell dating Emma Stone. Multiple reports suggest that the Battle of the Sexes stars are having the time of their life on-set, making Dobrev regret her decision to break up with him in the first place.

According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, the brewing romance between Austin Stowell and Emma Stone is causing Nina Dobrev “unbearable heartbreak.” The outlet claimed that the actress was considering returning to The Vampire Diaries to “hide the pain.” She allegedly thought that burying herself in work would take her mind off of her ex-boyfriend.

It has long been rumored that Dobrev will be returning on The Vampire Diaries Season 8, which will probably be the last season of The CW series. TVD showrunner Julie Plec, herself, admitted that they will be bringing back Dobrev’s character in the season finale to give her the ending she deserves.

CDL held that Emma Stone is a “step up” from Nina Dobrev, given all that she has achieved in her career. After all, she was part of several Hollywood blockbusters, including The Amazing Spider-Man franchise and the Oscar-winning film, The Help.

Early this week, an insider told Star magazine that Stone and Stowell have been inseparable since they started filming Battle of the Sexes. With the two playing husband and wife in the tennis biopic, it’s not surprising that publications start to assume that there is something going on between them.

“There’s a real connection there. They have the same sense of humor and are constantly teasing each other in between takes about how sexy they look in the funky 1970s-inspired get-ups they have to wear.”

While fans of Nina Dobrev and The Vampire Diaries may be quite disappointed that he moved on before her, the cast and crew of Battle of the Sexes were more than happy that the two hit it off from the start. Even before they knew that something was going on, they allegedly started to tease Emma Stone and Austin Stowell non-stop.

“The cast and crew are always saying what a cute couple they make. Emma and Austin try to brush it off, but you should see the way they blush!”

In February, Dobrev and Stowell decided to call it quits after seven months of dating. Contrary to early reports of cheating, an insider told E! News, that there was no third party involved in the relationship. A source close to the couple explained that the two just did not have enough time for each other given their busy careers.

“It started to get hard with both of their schedules. They remain on good terms.”

The break up definitely came as a surprise to fans of Nina Dobrev and Austin Stowell’s relationship, especially since the two were not at all shy from packing on PDA, both in public and on social media. Some insiders, however, were not at all fooled.

Back when they started going out, Celeb Dirty Laundry speculated that the two are just going out for show. With Nina trying to distance herself from The Vampire Diaries and Ian Somerhalder, they pointed out that she could be faking her relationship just so fans can move on.

“It would certainly be an easy way to seemingly end the constant association with Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed. Ian and Nikki have also been working to exorcise the stigma of Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder’s relationship from their lives, as Reed is pushing Ian to quit The Vampire Diaries and attempt a movie career of his own.”
