WWE News: Seth Rollins Says Bret Hart’s Negative Comments About Him ‘Hurt My Feelings’

Seth Rollins’ one and only WWE World Heavyweight Championship reign came to an abrupt end after Rollins blew out his knee during a match with Kane, and one of Rollins’ idols, WWE Hall of Famer Bret “The Hitman” Hart had some pretty negative things to say about “The Architect” after his injury.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Hart called Rollins reckless for breaking John Cena’s nose. Then, Hart said that, as WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Rollins shouldn’t have allowed himself to get hurt.

While discussing his injury and recovery on Friday’s Talk is Jericho, Rollins brought up Hart’s comments, and he expressed some frustration towards the WWE legend.

“I have all the respect in the world for this guy, but this one hurt my feelings more than anything, was Bret Hart. Bret Hart had some comments about me and how safe I am in the ring because of John’s nose. And then me getting hurt while I was the Champion and just said you couldn’t do that because people relied on you as a top guy. And that hurt my feelings, and I haven’t seen Bret since then, but I know he comes from a different era when he worked through a lot of stuff, but man, that sucked. That hurt my feelings.”

Bret Hart was just about the only guy who criticized Rollins after he got hurt because almost everyone realizes that Rollins wasn’t going out there and taking unnecessary risks. What happened to him was just a freak accident, which is the case with most injuries.

Rollins also told Jericho that he would’ve worked through the injury if he could have. But because he ended up tearing every ligament in his knee, he couldn’t.

Now, Rollins is back, and probably better than ever. He’ll have his first match in nearly eight months against Roman Reigns at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view.

Originally, Rollins was supposed to lose the WWE World Heavyweight Championship to Reigns at Survivor Series last November. But, he got hurt just a couple of weeks before the show.

It’s likely that Rollins will lose to Reigns at Money in the Bank, but the feud between the two may end up lasting quite a while, as the two men will be the faces of Monday Night Raw when the brand-split happens this coming July.

Rollins made it clear during the aforementioned Talk is Jericho interview that he wants to wrestle AJ Styles. The two men have wrestled once before outside of WWE, but they’re clearly more polished performers at this point in their respective careers, so it’d be a completely different match.

Unfortunately though, if the match doesn’t happen before the brand-split, it may not happen for quite some time, because while Rollins will be one of the faces of Raw, AJ Styles will be one of the faces of SmackDown, along with John Cena. Of course, WWE could change things between now and mid-July, but, as of right now, Rollins and Styles will be on two different shows following the brand-split.

There’s always a chance that WWE could shake up the rosters several months after the brand-split, but that would somewhat cheapen it. So, for now, the only way Rollins and Styles will end up on the same show is if Vince McMahon decides to change his mind on who will be the faces of Raw and SmackDown.
