Is Gwen Stefani’s Social Media Behavior Really Bothering Blake Shelton?

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have clearly decided not to keep their relationship under wraps; they sing songs about their relationship, talk about their love for each other during interviews, and attend events as a couple. However, according to a recent report, Blake believes that Gwen is sharing too much of their love life with her fans.

As Gossip Cop reports, the latest rumor about Gwen and Blake’s relationship involves Gwen Stefani’s social media activity. Gwen is a huge Snapchat fan, and she’s also shared a few photos of herself and Blake Shelton on Twitter and Instagram.

A source recently told In Touch Weekly that Blake wants Gwen to stop posting pictures like the one above on her social media pages because he’s worried that they’ll turn off fans and “cheapen” the Shefani love story.

“He’s asked Gwen to stop posting so many selfies of them,” the source claimed. “He just wants to keep their special moments private. It’s the first time they’ve disagreed about something.”

However, according to this supposed insider, Blake Shelton isn’t interested in completely cutting the public off from cute Shefani moments.

“He knows that the public needs to be a part of their love story. He just doesn’t want to constantly share all these pictures of them kissing or hanging out backstage.”

It’s certainly true that Gwen Stefani shares more photos of herself and Blake Shelton together than Blake does, but it doesn’t look like Blake was saying no to the selfie below; he’s smiling big in the sweet snapshot.

Blake Shelton rarely shares any “selfies” at all with his fans, so perhaps it shouldn’t be shocking that there are so few photos of Gwen Stefani on his Twitter page. However, Blake occasionally tweets things that are just as intimate as—if not more so—than an innocent selfie. As the Inquisitr previously reported, Blake used Twitter to publicly ask Gwen to steal the skimpy “space pants” that she wore during her April 2 Saturday Night Live performance. According to Blake, he wanted his girlfriend to wear them at home. Gwen Stefani responded to Blake’s blush-worthy request by letting him know that they were in her suitcase.

While Blake might use social media a bit differently than Gwen, Gossip Cop reports that the couple “remains on the same page” when it comes to how much of their relationship they share with their fans on social media.

Social media might help Gwen Stefani deal with her “Misery” whenever she and Blake Shelton are forced to spend a lot of time apart, which is a common occurrence due to their busy schedules. However, Gwen doesn’t just love social media because it helps her keep in touch with Blake; she thinks it great because it keeps everybody connected. During an interview with LinkedIn, Gwen explained why she has embraced Snapchat, Twitter, and Instagram.

“[Before social media], the people that we loved, they were very mysterious,” Gwen said, according to People. “I think that people feel real good about tapping into everybody’s life [with social media], and there’s something comforting about that.”

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton’s social media PDA combined with their gushing interviews and songs about one another have made them the target of persistent engagement rumors. However, during a recent chat with 94.7 Fresh FM’s The Tommy Show, Gwen revealed that Blake hasn’t popped the question. The “Go Ahead and Break My Heart” singers are both about to be busy touring, so it’s not like they have time to plan a wedding, anyway.

“Let’s just take it one day at a time. Everything’s crazy right now so no, absolutely not,” Gwen said when asked if she’s in possession of an engagement ring from Blake.

Gwen Stefani also remarked that many of the stories about her non-existent engagement have been “gossip-y” and “weird,” like that whole bucket of chicken thing. If Blake Shelton does decide to pop the question, he might want to challenge himself to out-weird the tabloids by doing so in a unique way, and what better way to accomplish this than by using Gwen’s beloved social media to ask her to marry him? Shefani fans can dream.
