Miley Cyrus And Liam Hemsworth Confirm Romance With Muhammad Ali Tribute
Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth both used their Instagram accounts to pay tribute to Muhammad Ali after the boxing legend passed away on June 3, and the celebs’ social media memorials also served as a hint that The Last Song costars are a couple once more.
On Saturday, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth shared the same black-and-white photo of themselves posing with Muhammad Ali on their respective Instagram pages. However, Liam’s post is getting more attention than Miley’s because it marks the first time The Hunger Games star has shared a photo of his rumored fiancee on one of his social media pages.
“I’ll never forget the day we met the toughest man on the planet. RIP Champ,” Liam wrote. Miley simply added the hashtag “#RIPCHAMP” to her matching Instagram photo.
According to the Daily Mail, fans immediately started buzzing about Liam Hemsworth’s use of the word “we” in his tribute to Muhammad Ali. They believe it’s Liam’s subtle way of confirming that he and Miley are indeed a couple after weeks of speculation that the couple has reconciled and plans on walking down the aisle.
As the Sun reports, the photo of Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth posing with Muhammad Ali was taken in March 2012 during Celebrity Fight Night, a charity event that raises money to help fight Parkinson’s disease. According to People, Muhammad Ali’s final public appearance was at this year’s Celebrity Fight Night.
When Miley and Liam attended the 2012 event together, they hadn’t officially announced their engagement. However, Miley Cyrus got tongues wagging by wearing a massive sparkler on her ring finger.
Miley later took to Twitter to deny that her accessory was an engagement ring.

However, two months later, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth revealed that they were engaged. Liam proposed on May 31, 2012, so Miley Cyrus wasn’t lying when she said that the bauble in the Celebrity Fight Night photos was not an engagement ring.
“I’m so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam,” Miley told People.
According to Cosmopolitan, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth called off their engagement in September 2013. However, Miley revealed that they were still on friendly terms and communicating with one another in November 2015 when she helped Liam adopt a huge rescue dog named Dora the Explorer.
A few months later, Miley Cyrus dropped the first big hint that their engagement was back on; she’s clearly wearing the engagement ring Liam Hemsworth gave her in a January 18 Instagram post.
Miley and Liam haven’t appeared in public together recently, but Miley Cyrus did hang out with the man who might be her future brother-in-law just last week. As Celebuzz reports, she and Chris Hemsworth were photographed together at Soho House in Malibu on June 2. Is it possible that they were making wedding plans over dinner?
Miley’s father certainly seems to think that the wedding is back on. As Us Weekly reports, Billy Ray Cyrus has even offered to officiate the ceremony whenever Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth get hitched.
“They’re really happy together right now,” Billy Ray said of Miley and Liam’s relationship during an appearance on the Today show. “They know if they need a preacher, they’ve found one.”
Miley Cyrus has remained mum about the engagement rumors, but Liam Hemsworth was forced to address them during his interview for the June/July edition of GQ Australia. He revealed that he and Miley needed their 2013 breakup because they were both “super young” when they first got engaged, and he said it should be easy for people to figure out whether the wedding is back on now that he and Miley are older and more mature.
“People will figure it out, they already have… They’re not dumb,” Liam said.
