George Bush Impersonates Dana Carvey Impersonating George Bush [Video]

Dana Carvey had several highlights during his time on Saturday Night Live but his most memorable character has to be former President George H.W. Bush. Well, it turns out that there’s another person who does a spot on impersonation of the former president.

The elder Bush recently showed off his comedic chops and gave his best impersonation of Dana Carvey’s impersonation of him.

Bush said: Not going to do it. Wouldn’t be prudent.

George W. Bush was also frequently mocked on SNL but W. doesn’t have his Will Ferrell impersonation down just yet.

Carvey described his impersonation of H.W. Bush once by saying that it was a cross between Mister Rogers and John Wayne.

Carvey said:

“The way to do the president is to start out with Mister Rogers … Then you add a little John Wayne, you put ’em together and you got George Herbert Walker Bush.”

SNL has a long history of mocking politicians. Tina Fey famously mocked Sarah Palin on the late night show, Will Ferrell stepped into the younger Bush’s shoes, Fred Armisen currently plays President Obama and Jason Sudekis does a pretty good Mitt Romney. (Sudekis is leaving the show, however, so SNL will have to scramble for a new Mitt if the GOP candidate wins the presidency.)

Here’s a video of Dana Carvey’s impersonation of George H.W. Bush.
