Selena Gomez has been standing by the side of best friend Taylor Swift in the wake of her recent split from Calvin Harris.
According to reports, despite Selena currently being on the road for her Revival World Tour, Gomez has been supporting her close friend following the news that Taylor and Calvin had called it quits earlier this week.
“Selena has been an absolute rock for Taylor since the split,” a source told Hollywood Life of how Selena has been helping Taylor through her sad break-up, claiming that Swift and Gomez have been in constant contact despite Selena’s touring commitments.
The source also alleged to the site that Gomez, who’s had her own share of heartbreak following her 2014 split with Justin Bieber, has been giving Swift some advice on how to heal from her split, encouraging Taylor to head home to Nashville, Tennessee, to be with her family.
“Selena thinks its best that Taylor be close to home now in Nashville so she can get the support of her mother,” Hollywood Life‘s insider said. “She also knows how much comfort and love her cats bring her.”
But while Gomez is reportedly suggesting Swift enjoy a little down time in the wake of her break-up with Calvin Harris, the site is also claiming that Selena is eager to get Taylor on the road with her following her time at home.
A separate source claimed to Hollywood Life earlier this week that Selena previously asked Swift to make a surprise appearance at a few of the shows on her Revival World Tour, and allegedly feels more confident than ever that Taylor may now show up for a duet as she slips back into single life.
“Selena invited Taylor to join her for a few songs on tour before her concerts even began,” an insider claimed of Gomez’s plans, “Now that Taylor is going through a break-up, that might become a reality.”
But it’s not just on stage where Selena is supposedly encouraging Taylor to take solace, as the insider also alleged that Gomez is urging Swift to do what she does best and put pen to paper to put her feelings about her broken relationship into song.
“Right now Taylor is in shock over her break up with Calvin,” the source told the site, “but Selena and other friends are encouraging her to get back on stage and back in the studio, two things that may be best for her right now.”
But it’s not just Selena who’s been spreading the love for Taylor Swift post her surprising break-up.
Earlier this week, Taylor’s long-time best friend Abigail Anderson also sent a sweet message to Swift, who she first met more than 10 years ago while the two were still in school.
Abigail took to Twitter to show her support for Taylor on June 1, where she sent Swift a hand-drawn painting of a heart alongside the text, “my weird heart loves your weird heart.”
“There are few things more significant or valuable than a friendship that will withstand the test of time,” Abigail captioned the snap, tagging Swift in the process. “Thank you for getting me. Always.”
What do you think Taylor Swift should do after splitting with Calvin Harris? Should she hit the road with Selena Gomez?
