Does Luann De Lesseps Feel Guilty About Acting Out At Dorinda Medley’s Home?

Luann de Lesseps was not planning on her weekend away being packed with yelling, fighting, and arguing when she packed her bags to head to the Berkshires. Dorinda Medley had planned a relaxing weekend away for the girls and had even decided to leave Sonja Morgan back in New York to avoid any alcohol-fueled fights. But little did she know that Luann and Bethenny Frankel had some outstanding arguments, and they decided to get into it almost immediately upon arriving.

According to a new Bravo report, Luann de Lesseps is now revealing that she did feel a little guilty about having a full-on fight with Bethenny at Dorinda’s home. Medley had spent hours cooking, decorating, and getting into the Christmas spirit, so she was hurt, shocked, and surprised that her co-stars would get into a huge fight in her home. And while Luann does admit that it was wrong for her to act out, de Lesseps also reveals that she wanted Dorinda to protect her and stand up for her given she was the hostess.

“I think that hostesses have a responsibility to manage their guests, so when I talked to Jules on Dorinda’s front porch, I was still reeling from my encounter with Bethenny. I realize now that she was distracted with her father’s health issues and that I should have been more empathetic to what was going on with her instead of focusing on me, but I was under attack,” Luann de Lesseps points out in her Bravo blog, sharing that she felt that Medley should have done more to protect her from Bethenny.

Luann didn’t get much support from her Real Housewives of New York co-stars, who all believed that Bethenny’s comments about her sex life were true. De Lesseps kept denying that she had slept with several guys, but her co-stars knew different. Sonja Morgan, who was her host for a while, revealed that de Lesseps would leave her home to go hang out with guys, and she would bring back men. And while Luann de Lesseps tried to defend herself by making random comments, she made a mistake mocking Dorinda’s birthday cake. As it turns out, Medley was furious with Luann for talking about her mother.

“Dorinda put a lot of effort into our slumber party. She decorated and cooked up a storm for us. I didn’t mean to insult the birthday cake made by her mother,” Luann reveals, adding, “Mothers are sacred even in Housewives territory. Amen.”

It sounds like de Lesseps does feel bad about how things turned out, but she does wish that her friends had defended her during the arguments. Throughout the night, Ramona Singer tried to play peacemaker and wanted to encourage Luann a bit. She got de Lesseps to write apologies via text messages to both Bethenny and Carole Radziwill. Frankel and Carole didn’t really reply to the text messages, but the episode ended with Bethenny confronting Luann once again.

“To Bethenny, I sent a text saying I was sorry if I miscommunicated my role in naming her brand. I was there with her at the time and that is all I was saying. As for Carole, I don’t know what else I can do if she doesn’t accept my apology. I was ready to move on, and I was trying to salvage what was left of the weekend,” Luann de Lesseps pointed out about her random apologies via text messages.
