‘American Horror Story’ Season 6 Updates: Jessica Lange Returning?

There are many rumors about American Horror Story Season 6, and one of those has been the return of Jessica Lange. Showrunner Ryan Murphy has confirmed that he would like the actress to return, but is that really going to happen.

According to iDigitalTimes, Lange is definitely not going to return for Season 6 or any more of AHS. She is done with the show, but she did not leave on bad terms. She is just ready to move on, and Lange says that sometimes actors have to make the decision to leave a show behind and allow it to come to its natural end.

Lange was an important part in the first four seasons of the show. Always playing a main character, she has shown different acting styles throughout. Originally playing a seemingly friendly next door neighbor with a dark plan and past, she went on to play a vicious, God-fearing nun, an evil head of a witch coven, and then the owner of a travelling freak show.

While she has left American Horror Story for good, she does say that all of her characters have been interesting, and she loved being a part of such a major FX program. She had previously said that her role of Elsa Mars is one that Murphy will struggle to top, and she didn’t want to find a way to follow that.

That doesn’t mean she is done working with Murphy. He is currently working on another FX show Feud, which Lange is going to be a part of. She will star opposite Susan Sarandon, and the show will follow a similar layout to AHS. Each season will focus on a different feud from history, with the first season about Bette Davis and Joan Crawford.

Lady Gaga took over from Lange in American Horror Story Season 5, and received mixed reviews for her first TV acting performance. Murphy only had praise for her, and wanted to see her return for Season 6. This is something that has now been confirmed, although her role in the show is still a mystery. She is expected to have a smaller role due to other commitments clashing with filming.

Very little is known about American Horror Story Season 6, which is expected to return to screens in fall 2016. The show is expected to have a smaller cast, as The Inquisitr has previously reported, with Angela Bassett, Denis O’Hare, Evan Peters, and Sarah Paulson currently confirmed for the year. Finn Wittrock would like to be there, but there is a problem with the schedule, and it looks like he will not have a part this time. There is always next season.

It is possible that Connie Britton will return. She has wanted to come back since her role in Season 1 Murder House. However, her role on Nashville has stopped her being able to make filming commitments. Now that Nashville has been cancelled, her itinerary has opened up, so anything is possible for her.

There was the expectation that Season 6 would be set in the past, as Seasons 2 and 4 were. FX president John Landgraf shared accidentally that AHS would be set in the present this year, but split across two timelines. There will be echoes of the past, but he never shared any more about those details. There is also the possibility that there will be two seasons this year, with different writers working on them both.

American Horror Story Season 6 is expected to be very different from Hotel. The last season was difficult to follow and saw a ratings drop, so a change may not be a bad idea.
