Chumlee Update: Will The ‘Pawn Stars’ Favorite Return Next Season?

With the majority of Chumlee’s court appearances behind him, fans are wondering whether or not he’ll be returning to the upcoming season of Pawn Stars. Let’s face it, the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop just wouldn’t be the same without the sometimes goofy employee.

According to a recent Fox News report, an unidentified official from the History Channel and A&E Network verified that there has been no change in Austin Russell’s employment status. He will return, along with the other Pawn Stars cast members, after the summer hiatus.

To briefly recap, Chumlee was arrested on March 9. Police raided his home, in relation with a sexual assault investigation they were running. During the raid, a dozen guns, marijuana, and small amounts of Xanax and meth were confiscated. Chumlee spent the night in jail and bonded out the next day.

Saying that Chumlee dropped off of the planet, after his arrest, is an understatement. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, almost no one was talking. His girlfriend, Tanya Hyjazi, stayed quiet as well. To date, no one is sure if the couple is still together.

However, in the days before his initial court date, Chumlee put several pairs of expensive shoes up for auction on eBay. This made some fans wonder if he was selling off his collection to get money for his legal defense.

Two of Chumlee’s close friends did make a public comment about the ordeal, however. Both Rick and Corey Harrison stood behind their friend. The pair indicated they would do whatever needed to be done to help him.

In case you’re unaware, Corey and Chumlee have been friends since they were young boys. So, you might as well say that Chumlee is a member of the Harrison family. Before Chumlee ever even thought of working at the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop, he played there after school and on weekends.

On May 25, the reality TV star pleaded guilty to misdemeanor attempted drug possession charges and a felony weapons charge. To get the felony charge eventually dismissed, Chumlee must undergo counseling for an unspecified amount of time. He also has to stay out of trouble until 2019. The sexual assault charge, which started Chumlee’s legal nightmare, was dropped.

Should the Pawn Stars favorite violate the terms of his plea deal, he faces up to five years in state prison. It goes without saying, fans hope he’ll keep his nose clean.

A few days ago, Chumlee started posting Twitter updates again. In one of them, he simply said, “I love all of you.” Maybe that means he’ll be more vocal in the future.

If you can’t wait for Season 13 of Pawn Stars, head on over to the History Channel. You can watch previous episodes, all 436 of them. That should be enough to keep you busy until the new season airs. Watch for it on Mondays at 10 p.m.

Are you happy to hear that Chumlee is still a part of Pawn Stars? If the outcome had been different, do you think you’d still enjoy the show without him? Please take a minute to leave your thoughts about Chumlee’s big adventure below.
