JoJo Fletcher Calls Chad Johnson ‘A Complex Guy’ — Plus Why The Next Episode Is ‘The Most Dramatic’ In ‘Bachelorette’ History

JoJo Fletcher had some interesting thoughts to share on new villain Chad Johnson’s interactions with the other contestants on The Bachelorette.

While Chad spent the latest episode dishing on the other suitors, Fletcher told People that Chad’s actions prove that he is a “complex” person.

“I had no idea there was this much tension between Chad and the other guys,” Fletcher wrote. “I knew there was some tension, of course, but I didn’t know there were threats of violence. I don’t feel great now seeing this. It’s all just so complicated. Chad is a complex guy with complex emotions. And I know he means well.”

According to USA Today, Chad spent the majority of the last installment calling out the other contestants. Not only did he refer to them as childish, but he also expressed that none of them impressed him (besides drunken Daniel, whom Chad likes for some reason).

During the latest round, Chad went on a group outing with Christian, Jordan, Alex, Nick B., and James T. The party of men were joined by Max Kellerman and Marcellus Wiley, both hosts of ESPN’s SportsNation.

The sports talk show hosts made each contestant endure a few playful competitions, including a fake press conference and proposal.

Chad got really candid for the proposal and admitted that he thought Fletcher was a bit “naggy.” Despite his honesty, Fletcher called him out for being mean to the other men on the show.

“But he really shouldn’t be threatening other guys. That’s not cool,” Fletcher stated.

At the same time, JoJo Fletcher added that the drama is really going to ramp up in the next episode of The Bachelorette. Does this mean that Chad is about to get physical with some of the other contestants on the show?

“What’s going to happen next with Chad and the guys? Well, I can tell you now that what’s coming up is – to go to the Bachelor lingo – quite possibly ‘the most dramatic episode in Bachelor history,’ ” Fletcher shared. “Next week? The week after? I can’t tell you. You’ll have to tune in to see how it all goes down.”

Considering his honest comments about Fletcher, She Knows reports that Chad might be the most honest contestant to ever grace The Bachelorette.

That being said, his rude comments about other contestants is not a good sign, especially if it points to his own insecurities. In fact, Fletcher told Chad as much during their one-on-one time after the group date.

“I do think Chad is overcompensating for something and I don’t know why,” she stated.

At this point, it is hard to gauge what Chad’s true intentions really are. On one hand, his honesty is something that is unique on a show like The Bachelorette, where everyone else is trying their best to impress. Chad could also just be gunning for camera time, trying to make himself the villain.

Of course, if he really thinks that Fletcher is “naggy,” then a future with Fletcher is definitely under question. Whether or not Chad is able to get through the next couple of rounds is yet to be seen. Fletcher, however, did state that she appreciated his honesty during the fake proposal ceremony.

“I have to admit that being called a nag by Chad was definitely a bit surprising. It felt undeserved and hurtful,” Fletcher explained. “And while I was hurt, I do respect someone who is honest and able to speak their mind.”

Will Chad’s attitude get the best of him in the next episode? Or can he win back Fletcher’s favor and stay alive for another round?

Fans can watch the drama unfold on The Bachelorette as the next two episodes will be aired on Monday and Tuesday night on ABC.
