‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 8 Spoilers: What Is Known So Far?

The Vampire Diaries Season 7 finale may have only aired in May, but filming for Season 8 is already underway. Just what is expected to happen in the potential final season of the show? Here is a look at the things The Vampire Diaries fans already know for Season 8.

Caroline and Stefan will make a go of their relationship again. The end of Season 7 saw Alaric tell Caroline that her family would always be there, but he wouldn’t stand in her way of her being with the one she truly loves. The problem is Caroline was extremely angry at how Stefan handled the three years he was on the run.

Candice King has said that she expects the two to have some normalcy in their lives, although it won’t all be smooth sailing. They will not only have to manage their relationship, but also save Enzo and Damon at the same time.

Another known fact at the moment is Bonnie has no magic. It never came back, as Caroline told Elena while writing in her journal. This means Bonnie can’t do a locator spell in The Vampire Diaries Season 8 premiere to find her boyfriend and best friend.

Bonnie is completely lost. It is possible that she will not get her magic back for some time; if at all. This season is also going to be Kat Graham’s last, so it is possible that she will remain human so she can be killed off easily to bring Elena back for the series finale.

A third known fact is that The Vampire Diaries Season 8 will start back in the fall. The CW announced its new lineup for next season, and spinoff The Originals was left off the list. Fans were shocked at this until the CW explained that it is to make the mid-season programming a lot stronger this time. The Originals is a stronger show than The Vampire Diaries.

That doesn’t mean crossovers can’t happen. Julie Plec is already thinking about potential crossovers between the shows. King doesn’t think a Klaroline one will happen, and King believes that the two would never work. However, never say never! With The Originals getting a time jump, as The Inquisitr previously reported, there are many possibilities for crossovers.

October is expected as the air date for the show. It will likely be the week after New York Comic Con, around the same time that Supernatural returns. The show will definitely return on Friday nights at 8pm, and Bustle believes it will be around October 7.

Damon and Enzo are definitely not the big bads, but they will seem it. The true big bad of the season looks to be the monster in the vault. Right now, the creature doesn’t have a name that the fans know. That will be left unannounced until The Vampire Diaries Season 8 premiere. The monster is likely to use a lot of CGI to create, which is something the show has never really done in the past.

While the monster is the big bad, the group will need to save Damon and Enzo from it. They will also have to work out just why the two have become so evil, and whether there is a way to save them. Could they possibly need to be killed? Is it possible that Elena will help to save Damon?

If the next season is the last, Nina Dobrev will return for at least the last episode. Right now, that as not been confirmed but is highly speculated. The Vampire Diaries Season 8 will return sometime in fall 2016, picking up where the show left off, with Damon and Enzo terrorizing the world and the others trying to save them.
