Bethenny Frankel Vs. Kelly Bensimon: Why Kelly Feels Sorry For ‘RHONY’ Viewers

Bethenny Frankel is a woman who isn’t scared of speaking her mind. And that’s why fans really love her on The Real Housewives of New York. Frankel is back on the show after taking a few years off, during which time she filmed her own spin-off show, Bethenny Ever After?, filmed her own talk show, Bethenny, and wrote several books. But when Frankel announced her divorce, she felt that she needed to return to the show and she came back to the show last year. But Bethenny had no interest in filming the show again if Kelly Bensimon signed on to do the show.

According to a new Bravo report, Bethenny Frankel has revealed that she has no hatred towards Kelly, but she doesn’t want to be friends with her either. And while Frankel almost walked out of a scene last season because Kelly had shown up to a get-together at a restaurant, Bensimon doesn’t feel the same way.

“I don’t have any animosity towards her,” Kelly recently told the Daily Dish about Bethenny Frankel, sharing that she’s completely over the drama that happened with the Skinnygirl creator on The Real Housewives of New York.

“We’re both very hardworking, we were both single at the time, I had children, but we both have a very, very strong ethic and strong integrity. We just didn’t click in those two scenes,” Kelly said of her relationship with Bethenny, adding that she feels sorry for the Real Housewives of New York viewers, “I feel sorry for the fanbase that they had to kind of see that.”

It sounds like Kelly doesn’t see her role on the show as others did. Bensimon claims that they only really fought twice on the show: once at the bar where Kelly said that she was above Frankel, and then during their “scary island” trip. It was during this trip that many of her co-stars thought she had a mental breakdown — she calls it a breakthrough.

Despite this dramatic trip, Kelly felt that she got a lot out of being on The Real Housewives of New York, even though she didn’t really get along with Bethenny Frankel. She claims that she’s stayed in touch with Luann de Lesseps and Jill Zarin. Bethenny and Jill used to be best friends during the show’s third season. But she thinks that Luann is a great woman, even though Bethenny Frankel probably wouldn’t agree.

“She’s just such a lovely woman, and she’s been so incredibly supportive through everything,” Kelly said, adding, “She’s a great cheerleader. She’s such a great person. My kids love her. And, you know, kids have such an incredible radar, and they know when people are genuine and/or disingenuous. And Jill Zarin is such an incredible woman, mother, friend.”

Right now, Bethenny Frankel is on The Real Housewives of New York and she may enjoy the fact that Bensimon isn’t on The Real Housewives of New York. And it sounds like Frankel has nothing to worry about as her former co-star doesn’t have any plans of returning to television.

“I had some really, really incredible times on Housewives,” Bensimon has revealed about her journey on the show, adding, “It was bittersweet for me. I had some really, really difficult moments, but I would say overall, like 90 percent of that show for me was really, really fun. And I got to meet Luann. And I got to be friends with Jill from it. I got a lot of great things out of it.”

What do you think of Kelly’s opinion about Bethenny Frankel these days? Are you surprised that she’s comparing herself to the Skinnygirl mogul?
